This post is not meant to be a full blown disscussion, I just wanna get this on waypoint, since It’s one of the top comments on one of HiddenXperia’s latest videos.
Midship was basically a level in Halo 2 that ended up going back and forth between hands until jackal pirates blew it up, so…
I posted in the comments that I would LOVE to see Midship in ruins just floating around in space. The destroyed ball of what remains is now an angry battlefield for those who reside there. It’s recieved quite alot of praise by the community, and I think it’s safe to say 343 needs to make a level. Not only a level, but a very unique level in that the gravity and sound is turned WAY the hell off, since it is in a vacuum (space in basic terms). I already have the name and smartass comment for it.
Long Night Of Solace:
Multiple battleships have been turned prison to their former glories, leaving nothing but dust, echos… And an Unggoy body floating around.
This battleground would be a great MLG map due to it’s special features, and harsh environments. The map would look alot like Midship… But split into 7 pieces and tossed into 7 blenders for a good 7 days.
And for legal reasons I have to say this after writing 7 that many time in a single sentence.
777 = George W. Bush
Thanks to those who get the reference.
Interesting idea, there is a similar map in halo 5 but it’s not in space and is in one piece, I would find playing on a map like that very fun.

I’m not sure that having a level with low gravity and dampened sound would go down well in the long term. Cool idea on the surface and would be enjoyable for a while but it would probably get annoying pretty quick.
Im all for multiplayer maps that are story based or have some lore to connected to them
Possibly, but with different environments, new gameplay can be added. Maybe it’ll make Halo better. I’d still like to see it.

Ah yeah no doubt, I’d look at the Anchor 9 themed & Condemned maps from Halo Reach, had a low gravity area and that was cool. I think having specific areas of the map with different gameplay effects is okay but having an entire map dedicated to it would be too intrusive to the core experience.
Imagine someone new comes into the game, jumps straight into their first multiplayer match and it’s low gravity madness everywhere they go? I think it just not a suitable way to have an entire map.

Totally agree with you
Also - my opinion - MP Level Design should be built around lore and an astethic, not E-sport and bad stuff like that

I second that.
I don’t mind some maps being more competitively built because the game does need those but mannnn I love myself a map that fits with the game’s story.
