I’m just curious to see how many people out there are experiencing the same type of lag that I am getting. 70% of the games that I join I get very frustrating “host leaving” black screen lag. (for lack of a better name) It basically takes me out of play for 5 seconds or so and shows me the score screen while I load back in. I usually come back dead from autorunning through the middle of the map or autorunning off the map, etc… It lasts the entire game as well pulling me into the black screen every 5-10 seconds. Is there any word on this yet or am I the only one experiencing this? Or if anyone has any fixes or anything at all that might help, I would greatly appreciate that.
I have good internet and my nat is open so I am not sure that it would be on my side but I could be wrong. I am sitting at 50mb/s download and 6mb/s upload. Any and all help would be awesome.

Don’t let anyone fool you into thinking you are being lag switched. This is 100% an issue with the game. This happens every single game in MCC, but all other games on my XB1 are perfectly fine.
I have been having this issue since the 15th and have posted multiple things on here but nobody knows what to do. There are very few of us that have this issue but it is definitely game breaking.
Unfortunately I don’t even think 343 knows about this at this point. This seems to be affecting a very small amount of people.

Oh I understand it is an issue with the game, thanks for the response. It is really really frustrating to play with this and yes this is probably the most broken thing I am experiencing in this game at the moment.

I can find games perfectly fine but a bunch of websites were freaking out about this because someone posted a video and they all though it was lag-switching.

Ah ok that makes sense. I can see why people are freaking out about ‘lag switching’ because it definitely looks exactly like that. I hope a fix for this is in the works because I would really like to play even with all the other issues going on at the moment. With this though, it is completely unplayable for me.
I’m having the same problem. Matchmaking search times have improved for me (still waiting longer than I should though), but every match I’ve had this kind of connection lag in every match I’ve played since the update (only like 4 since the update because of this problem).
My nat is open and my connection is just fine.

Since the update it has worsened for me as well. It feels like it gets worse the more I try to play. From browsing the forums it doesn’t seem like it’s that widespread of a problem but I hope I’m wrong so that 343 can look into this sooner rather than later.
This started happening to me since the big 1.4gb update. I’d say a solid 80% of my matches I’m red bar and often in black screen. My internet is fine, speed tests confirm 28mbps download and 6 mbps upload.

Yeah it’s definitely on 343s end. I wish it was something I could fix myself so that I could play. The amount of time I spend in the black screen is just not worth trying to play it at the moment. I tweeted Andy and asked if this will be addressed in the next update. I’ll keep you all updated on what he says if he responds to my tweet.

I spent a solid week doing everything I could. I was hoping the path would help but nope, nothing. I have the hard copy of the game
I have the same problem at the moment, spend 50% of the game in black screen loading and then once I get back in the ping/lag spikes make it unplayable anyway.
TBH the 1.6gb update has made it worse for me… still takes just as long to find a game.
I have 20mbits download .5 upload and a ping ranging from 10 to 60 at the highest. And I still get stupid unplayable lag. Just like in this kinda funny video http://youtu.be/n1o3Jxj48Dk
