Okay im going to say this now,I’ve faithfully played reach since the midnigt launch back in 2010(check my gamertag same as my username.)and I loved it.I seemed to pick up faster on reach after then 3 for some reason but still enjoyed both and i’ve hopped around ALL of reach’s playlist’s but rumble pit was alway’s my favorite.Lately…it seem’s players no longer care to get a cheap win and that’s very saddening…By cheap win I mean power weapon yoinks in the major choke point’s of the map (were looking at you countdown/sword base.)/now every halo has had these and majority of the time I ignore it but now it’s just getting ridiculous,I’m seeing player’s of all types pick up chotgun and sword or sword and rocket’s and it get’s highly annoying when you can’t really counter it.I try just about every tactic and usually can get a grenade kill on them or a ranged kill but this is after the player has racked up about 6-8 kill’s and i’ve lost the lead or im constantly dying by that specific player.I don’t mind power weapon’s so long as their not all held by one player and it’s fair.I’m curious as to what drives player’s to do this…Is it the promise of a cheap victory? Is it lack of skill?Or is it simply that particular player doesn’t enjoy the map?Regaurdless i’d hope to see if anyone else had these issues because i’ve grown quite tired of predicting the outcome of EVERY game I join and it’s this problem that’s turned me away from halo.I know everyones guilty of camping,PW hording, cheap tactic’s but is it absolutely necessary for every game?I’m a Nova at this point and I try and set an example for other player’s especially lower rank’s that you dont alway’s need a DMR,Sniper, sword in your hand’s,a good player should be able to function on all map’s with all weapon’s.I apologize if that sounded like a whole “oh im better than you” type thing I honestly respect most player’s I encounter.Welp I suppose that’s all give me some feed back waypoint.
So…you want players to not use power weapons?
Blame the map design and poor default settings for allowing players to play like that.
It isn’t lack of skill to acquire weapons and use them against you one bit. They are just doing what they can for a victory. You’re not getting a break. It has been like this forever.
I never stated that I simply wish for there to be less…hmm well useage of the power weapon crutch.Such as the guy that grab’s shotgun and sword gets about 10 kill’s dies then intercept’s them again after dying.

I was simply saying what majority of people at least among my friend’s and myself are witnessing. It’s not the matter of a person aquiring and using the weapon’s it’s the fact a player will do this all game.

Then get the weapons from the player, or even get the weapons as they spawn. Controlling weapons and sections of the map are a huge part of Halo’s strategy.

I know this and usually ill pick just ONE of them up.That’s the issue here when people pick both weapon’s up like on countdown or pinnacle it makes it difficult for other player’s to neutralize the guy with rockets, sniper.

That’s also part of the strategy, because you know you would do the exact same thing if given the option to.

Actually I don’t.Look at any of my past games I dont use that tactic much if at all. Most times im seen with two power weapons im usually either trying to see which has more ammo, which would be better for my current situation, and if im not forced to run at that specific time.

I was referring to more of, you would not mind at all if your team had the enemies power weapon, you would prefer it because it helps you win.
Small tip though, if you seriously take two power weapons and just drop one and don’t call it out to your team mates, you should, giving it to the enemy is a bad idea.

Like you, I usually don’t carry around two power weapons at once, as I like to always have a DMR or other midrange non-power weapon on me. However, whenever I come across a second power weapon, I usually fight to defend it with the power weapon that I have, and when I run out of ammo, I pick up the weapon I was just defending!

It seem’s were at a misunderstading and I didn’t make myself clear enough I was talking specifically about rumble pit.I completely understand where youd be confused and im not trying to seem aggressive or sarcastic in the least,so if I offended you or any others I apologize.

Ahhh, now you’re making sense haha.
You should try and throw the other power weapon off the map then

Im sure I could make an arguement about that but at least its not as bad I do the same thing.Mostly I use melee and a magnum/AR.I change tactics depending on the situation. If youd ever like to play with me just send me a game invite and explain where you were from first.

I grab the sniper and fire off all but one shot and make sure it needs reloading before swapping it out for anything else. That’s been my favorite thing to do to people since Halo 2.

YOU’RE A JERK!
<3
Throwing weapons off the map is very fun to do! Except for when you throw off the wrong one…
I think it’s most fun to have a collection. Don’t actually use any of them, but run throughout the map and see how many power weapons you can juggle around safely. Just have to be sure to have a few sticky 'nades ready in case silly random teammates try to raid the collection.

It’s a free for all. What do you want people to do? Share? It’s every man for himself…you shouldn’t go out of your way to purposefully not pick up more than one power weapon because you think it’s “cheap,” and you shouldn’t expect other players to either. It’s not cheap, it’s a good way to win…
Every game has -Yoink- holes who love to piss everybody off. This isn’t new.
