shield regeneration delay. That is all
Due to sprint?
If anything it forces you to play as if there isn’t sprint. I like it. The 1v1 battles feel very Halo 2/3ish in this game because you can’t just sprint away. You are almost forced to finish every fight you start. Sprint acts like it should. A way to reach the battle faster, not a crutch for you constantly rely on so you can run away.

Agreed, this really helps balance sprint out and although it can be used to escape you do so at the large risk of being caught out by another enemy or a grenade.
If this hadn’t been implemented, the matches would have been even more cat-and-mouse gameplay than they already are. If anything, they should have made sprint drain the shields if they absolutely wanted to keep it in the game.

In my personal opinion it is one of the smartest choices 343 has made. I find myself going long periods of time in Arena games without sprinting. I’ve never been against sprint. I really enjoyed sprint only games in Reach. Halo 4 just had unlimited sprint with shield regeneration so it broke a lot of the maps. Legendary Slayer was perfect.
