Multiplayer is not very enticing

After giving multiplayer a good week plus I’ve found myself going back to halo mcc. The game just feels so limited and reduced, like weapons have been removed, armour is very hard to unlock unless you buy it (which is like buying the game twice if you bought the campaign).

I don’t know if I’m playing the wrong game mode or something but where are the Spartan lasers, fuel rods, SAW’s and DMR’s? DMR’S weren’t my go to weapon but when I had one they bloody did the job well! Same with SAW’s, sure they had a recoil but again they worked well for me personally.

Don’t get me wrong the new weapons are cool (except the commando, I just don’t get on with it) but why remove so many good ones?

Now the armoury, I have no idea what the hell is going on with it, I love the idea of the MK VII and MK V (B) core ideas and the armour is just stunning to look at but how the hell do you even unlock it? because in the MCC since 343 started releasing new armour guess what? I unlock armour peices everyday I play and im still unlocking things to this day! Also 343 need to be careful with what new armour to release because I’m pretty sure I saw cat ears the other day and I just thought to myself “343 please… no”.

Armour colour, now what the hell is this all about, we have to choose a whole set instead of being able to choose our own primary and secondary colours? And furthermore you have to UNLOCK BLOODY COLOUR? ARE YOU OUT OF YOUR MINDS!!!?? What in this world we live in today possessed you into thinking this was a brilliant idea and that fans will love it? That’s just insane thinking about it!

It’s almost like we’ve bin put under some unfair tax law by an unfair king here and that freedom has been reduced. These are my opinions obviously but am I the only one who thinks this?

People keep salivating over the campaign but forget this game isn’t Halo. If you remove the art style and the few classic weapons it has it will look nothing like Halo under the hood.

This is not Halo. It’s a shop with the name Halo attached to it as an extra

I miss the rail gun it was the closest halo will ever get to a bow.

I’m bit tired of the multiplayer already. It just… Doesn’t feel right I guess? Not bad. But I don’t really like most maps. The weapons feel great in campaign (campaign is among the best in the series) but weak or useless in multi. Lag and desync all over the place. I’m not so sure I’ll play Infinite that much a year from now. Hell, maybe even a month or two from now

Yeah I’m very upset that they removed several guns

I really have no idea why they dropped the SMG and SAW.
This game really needs CQC weapons because everything just gets outshined by the AR in close to mid.

I’m also a Plasma Rifle fan, so idk what the heck happened to that.

Aside from these common gripes, I think I do like Infinite’s core gameplay. It feels good and it’s like a H3+
Just sucks serious balls that for some reason 343 won’t have classic game modes on release.

Is Infection that hard to implement? Is KotH that hard to implement? I mean heck, Strongholds is basically already a more complicated version of KotH.

Ive gone back to mcc as well. It is so much better and has so many more reasons to play. Infinite is already stale due to lack of content

Halo 4 with it’s custom classes felt more halo than this

And the new ones they added are awful, I had high hopes for the commando but with its bloom even when someone is five feet away you can still miss every shot.

Probably already been said (sorry, I’m pressed for time and didn’t read every post) but don’t forget the reduction of modes available, the extremely limited amount of maps, and the fact that a lot of the maps have almost the exact same design to them and are only cosmetically different (Streets and Aquarius are a prime example of this as they’re functionally the same map, just with different decor).

I used to get angry at quitters but now, when I solo queue, if I see Behemoth come up at all, I straight up leave. It’s a terrible map and I don’t know why anyone at 343 thought it was a good idea to put multiple vehicles on such a small map; it simply doesn’t support or justify having them.

Behemoth has enough mobility with the jump pads and grav lifts, it certainly doesn’t need Warthogs, Ghosts, Brute Choppers, Wasps, Banshees, and Mongoose spawns. All it does is promote one team camping with vehicles and every match I’ve played on that map is almost always swayed by which team controls the vehicle spawns best and the random weapon spawn system makes it difficult, if not impossible, to destroy these vehicles once they’re obtained. Oh wow, look, we’re being camped by a Banshee flying at max ceiling and the only power weapon on the map to counter it is a terrible Hydra. Oh boy. Such fun.

That is such a bad take and it’s a real disappointment that it got so many likes.

For real. Behemoth is straight trash. Get rid of the vehicles and add some better power weapons and it would at least be serviceable.

It’s just so bland and generic right now. And the battle pass/customization isn’t generous enough to keep you playing. I don’t think sprint/slide/clamber ruins the halo experience but the poor weapon balance, lack of meaningful power weapons, and super generic map design make the game boring.

I mean the maps are beautiful but they play awful, there is no reason for rotation, on behemoth just go to where the vehicles spawn on the sunny side and thats where 85% the gunfights happen the map could have one half cut off and it would still play the same

Sorry you guys aren’t having fun.

I’m having a blast.

Sure… would love a few more maps and modes - who wouldn’t - but they are coming. And I whole heartedly agree that the delay to Forge / Customs / Scripting is a kick in the teeth.

But really enjoying what we’ve got. It plays and feels like Halo. The equipment is a lot of fun. Some of the new weapons are warming on me (not all of them… but any new sandbox needs a bit of time to mature).

Given the development issues, expanding to PC / new console, COVID, and getting a new engine up and running… I happy with the start.

Glass definitely half full… and the waiter is heading our direction.

Honestly forge and infection needs to arrive quicker because ngl I don’t see a reason to suffer custom games rn lol

It goes a lot further for me when it comes to Halo.

The biggest issue I have is knowing 343 is going to drip-feed content, but it’s going to be a lot slower than usual to milk the players that like buying from the shop.

Knowing that is 343 plan, it shows how low they have gone as a developer.

Yep. Back to the Bungie games… once again.

It’s not that the game is awful. It’s smooth and doesn’t feel sluggish (at least for me on a Series S, 4k tv and controller it feels pretty nice). I would even say that the core gameplay mechanics are quite nice. And the visual/audio aspect of it is simply amazing. The pop sound upon getting a kill is super satisfying. But the map design and weapon balance/sandbox is really just meh. I think that more and better maps for the 4v4 would be a good place to start. That bland call of duty style 3 lane map has gotten really tired for me.
