"Multiplayer is Not Allowed"

I posted this in general discussion, but I figured I might as well post here as well. I’ve tried all the basic solutions, restarting game, router, xbox. All of this is simply unbelievable. I am beyond frustrated with the game right now.

Hello everyone. Let me start by saying that I have been beyond patient with MCC. I was put up with a broken game since launch, playing with uneven teams (when I’ve actually been able to get into a game), crashes, and freezes. I was eager to see if the latest patch fixed anything, and it seems that I cannot even play the game now. I get a message stating that “The multiplayer feature is blocked due to your Xbox LIVE settings. Please make sure you have the correct Xbox LIVE account and your family settings are turned off”. I checked my settings to see if a ghost somehow changed any of my settings, and I am unrestricted across the board (as I have been since I made my XBL account twelve years ago…). Is anyone else experiencing this problem? This is utterly unacceptable. I can put up with broken matchmaking, because I know that it can be fixed. But now, I am being denied even an attempt to play the game, two weeks out from release.

I’d appreciate any help.

I’m having the exact same issue. Just decided I would play today hoping that I would get the match making fix update that all my friends have gotten (except me) and now I can’t play multiplayer because either I don’t have the correct xbox live account (LOL seriously? ??) or my family settings are turned on (there is no family settings option btw, just privacy and online safety) I too would like a response on how to play my $60 game that I have so far played very little because of a very poor and sucky online experience that made halo what it is.

I second the first post.

Bump.

This happens when your console isn’t connected to Xbox Live, but is connected to your WiFi network. Weird, I know, but bear with me. Do the well known router unplug trick. If that doesn’t fix it, sorry.

Didn’t work and bump.
