When attempting to search for a game I am told that the multiplayer feature is blocked due to my family settings even though I have none on my account and have double checked that the setting are what they should be. Hopefully this is and the achievement issues are resolved.
I’m having this same problem as well I’ve been playing since Tuesday but now I get that same message
Same issue here, no info anywhere on the Internet how to fix this.
You said you have none on your account. How about taking them off of the machine all together, try that.
I ran into the same thing. I just restarted the console and it stopped.

This. I was worried it was rare, and I saw people say “turn off and turn back on” but I’ve tried that lots. And messed with each and every privacy/family setting.
I don’t have any friends playing custom games and literally cannot even search for a match once yet. Rediculous.
can someone please comment on this? my friend is having this issue and we’d really like to atleast try and play online. he has the disc version by the way, im on digital and mine works fine
What I did to fix mine was got to the Xbox one home. Hover over the master chief collection then press start, go to quit then waited about 20 seconds then started the game and apparently i needed an update, just try this since when you restart the Xbox one it doesn’t restart the game because it puts you where you left off. You have to restart the game manually like i described.
Or turn off console, and unplug the power cord from behind the xbox. Plug it back in, start halo and you’ll need an update.
go to xbox home. highlight halo and click the menu button, then click quit. restart console. receive 88 MB update. play.
I got on to play tonight, received the 88MB update and am now getting the “Multiplayer Not Allowed” error. Spent an hour on the phone with Xbox Live support, have reset my Xbox several times, quit the game several times, etc. and still getting the error message. This game has been nothing but frustration after frustration. The lady with Xbox Live was saying that the game was just launched and that I need to give them time to get everything sorted out… Uh, sorry -Yoink- but Halo 2 came out ready to rock and that was 10 years ago. This is ridiculous!!
