Multiplayer is Absolute Trash & BTB is Hot Garbage

I feel like I’m playing with a handicap every game.

  • Shots not registering
  • Melee not registering
  • Back smack not registering…
  • Constantly shot behind walls
  • Enemies shooting me before I even see them
  • Gat dang desync galore

I’m always playing with a ping of 80-100 and I do not live in a remote region. I’m an hour away from one of the biggest cities in Canada…

And top it all off 343 has barely acknowledged these problems we are facing.

Hey 343, you say servers cost money right? To justify $20 armour coatings and insane shop prices right??? How about you buy some servers and instead of crapping out $350,000 bucks to keep the lane pro’s happy why don’t you focus all your money and time on fixing the game.

I’m sorry I am ranting but we are going onto 2 months since release and it took 343 about 3 weeks to fess up on the Yoroi armour mistake in the free battlepass event. Communication is absolutely key to help improve this game.

————————————————————————————-

Big Team Battle is in the worse state it’s ever been, quite frankly, how the maps are designed it almost feels like 343 has no interest in ever letting vehicles be viable in Halo ever again.

And 343 had yet to even acknowledge the problems.

Here’s the list:

  • Random weapon spawns - one team gets BR’s while the other gets commando’s.
  • Objectives change places and often favor one team.
  • Random vehicle spawns…
  • Vehicles are weak, die easy, handle poorly and some are downright useless.
  • Maps are claustrophobic for vehicles, and kind of small for 12v12 when you consider the size of past games.
  • Lack of dedicated heavy vehicles spawns.
  • Vehicles dropped from pelicans can flip upside down.
  • Vehicle doom state looks like crap and is a crap mechanic.

—Vehicles—

All vehicles are crap. Except the wasp and maybe the scorpion, but I have yet to even drive one.

Banshee flys like a brick, falls apart like lego, the bomb does not kill one one shot. It’s the worst vehicle in the game.

All vehicles feel too light and flip if they hit a pebble.

A total overhaul is needed. And they all need way more armour and health.

—Maps—

As stated before the maps are claustrophobic for vehicles. Even if you got a Scorpion you can’t drive around that much.

We only have 3 maps as well…

Random weapon and vehicle spawns need to go and standard weapon, vehicles and equipment need to stay. Period.

—Objectives—

We need more objectives, Assualt, VIP, KoTH, one bomb/flag and multi flag.

If the objective points are going to keep moving, we need better spawns for them, because when a team captures all the zones in total control and then the enemy team wins the next two uncontested, back to back in 2 minutes, you know your crap is borked.

P.S

343, I am and many others are part of the Halo insider program and would be happy to play test improvements to this game.

STRAIGHT FACTS

Halo Infinite is what killed Halo.

  • Halo 5 nailed gameplay and players are now just starting to realize that.

  • The MCC nailed a credit system.

  • Halo Infinite is nailing the final nail into the coffin for the series.

The fact that the game only has 44.3 GB of space should tell the player base that this game IS FAR FROM COMPLETE

Support Halo Infinite as you will, but in 6 months if there isn’t new maps, DLC for the campaign, then you best not start complaining then, the complaints need to be made now.
Right now 343 Industries is just focusing on Micro-transactions, to the point there recycling content from 2 weeks ago LOL like yo.

  • That is a bad sign already.

Halo Infinite - More like Halo Fortnite.

Can’t argue with the points you’re trying to make as they felt by pretty much the entire community…but I’d have an educated guess that the HCS prize money would come out of a completely different budget even if in game purchases from players contribute to the prize money.

Are you being serious?

They added an extra $100,000 from store sales and I do understand it did come from a budget they set aside for the event. I watched it for the drops, though I didn’t get the armour coatings unfortunately.

I am just truly salty over the grinding in ranked only to get constantly messed up one way or another.

Yeah lets insult them for actually optimizing the game. That is easily one of Infinite’s biggest strengths.

There is so much cut content from the game, along with gutted content from the season pass.

Its not insulting them when then there insulting the investors, player base… THE CONSUMERS.

OPTIMIZATION. LOOK UP WHAT THAT MEANS. A GAME CAN BE 200GB AND STILL BE LACKING CONTENT.

I do find your use of big words funny though not gonna lie.

Yea this a classic case of “Bigger=better.” COD Warzone is one of the biggest downloads you can have on an xbox, and yet its the most barebones, monotonous route a developer could have taken in terms of game design. Its a single map. And yet its 1/10 of my hard drive space. Thats bad.

I will agree that the game isnt complete. Unfortunately i think one of the only reasons the game was released now is for holiday sales. It seems like the time frame for when the core game will be fully fleshed out will come at some point before summer which doesnt bode well for game sales.

But to say that the multiplayer is trash is uncharitable. Sure it needs more maps and a better playlist system. But what we have now is still a great halo experience. Especially being a free halo experience (free depending on who you ask.)

Halo should have been 1tb and filled up my Xbox. You know it’s true

out of the box the default settings are defaulted to be that way. if you could say. what you want to do is play with the boxes and see what feels best for you. by default your going to want to get a grip on toggle to crouch. toggle to sprint. If your on a keyboard try turning auto steering assist OFF. Go from there. this halos got quite a learning curve but once you find that sweet spot you wont want to go back to the master the chief collection!

If you have pc try turning mouse acceleration!

I was done with MP after a week of it seeing how poorly this Beta has been going on this entire time.

343 screwed up big time, and when I say 343, and will always say this. I mean (upper management) that is the actual problem with this entire game. People that don’t even play their own game and just look at you as a number. Those people are the ones that need to be removed from gaming, period. Personally, I think it should be mandatory for the entire company to play the game regularly to see what is actually going on. Not that it’s going to “fix” everything, but it might help to get some of these people to open their eyes.

The one thing that the original Bungie will always have over 343 and it is a fact. They were gamers that actually played their own game, and that alone makes a huge difference in how a game is designed these days.

I’m sick of MP gaming these days because of how very poorly they are being handled because of upper management. Games use to be created with the players in mind, nowadays they are being created just for the company and that is 100% BS.

This is true, but 343 has shown they don’t really want to do that and staying silent is proof of that. What showed me the truth was how the upper management had the CM tell half-truths about the severs and how they don’t care about how the “new model” is actually hurting this game.

The multiplayer can actually be really good, but the servers/netcode is almost unplayably bad sometimes. It’s the worst I’ve seen in any shooter with dedicated servers.

They really need to fix up the connection. It feels worse than something like Halo 1 in the MCC and that game wasn’t even designed for online play.

Facts? no that’s opinions. Halo 5 is widely opinionated game where people either hate/like the game. Halo 5 for me was the worst in the series. MCC did a good credit system. Halo Infinite is basically similar making major mistakes that 343i did with Halo 5…aka focusing over greed like what they did with loot box gambling.

There’s always going to be fans of less than stellar entries within franchises and some fans may have a softening of hard stances as time passes, but this specific sentiment is not one that’s as generalized as you suggest.

Anecdotally I recently had a softened stance from a few interactions here and decided to boot H5 back up and give it a go after dropping it within a month and a half when it came out. My goal was to pick up where I left off in the campaign and play a weeks worth of Multiplayer and Warzone. I went back to Infinite and MCC after 2 days, H5 just couldn’t keep my interest man, the game has some good aspects but it’s not close to keeping that Halo feel.

For the first 100 levels absolutely, but after that, the earning system is a slog to push through and highly limited in scope. It’s a very simple system which is great: complete a task, get a point, use that point, save that point for bigger items, but point acquisition is not generous.

By comparison, Infinite was(rightfully so)/is panned for being grindy, but since the changes I’ve made pretty steady progress on the challenge system at a faster rate than I did initially just leveling up in MCC.

Neither system is great, they both have upsides, and both could be utilized simultaneously (but separately) with a rework to the system, but I wouldn’t suggest the MCC credit system is perfect by any stretch.

File size is not indicative of completeness or even success. There’s a multitude of reasons across every single game in existence that justifies the file size for those games.

Halo Infinite’s Slipspace engine was designed to keep the file size reasonable. If Infinite was designed 1:1 in Unreal (as a few posts suggested it should in hindsight), it would most likely be at the very least double the size it is now.

Content drip and steady releases are necessary, and at the very least are already in effect.

Hopefully within 4 months, we’ll have a new season, new maps, and new content as 343 has stated. But time will tell.

Campaign DLC would be nice, but it isn’t necessary within 6 months. Maybe after a year at the very least.

Well this is because of the “complaining” my guy. Cosmetics/microtransactions were addressed very recently and will be dealt with soon due to the outcry. It’s kind of egregious to suggest that they’re only focusing on this when it’s a direct result of player feedback.

There’s a whole list of things that are going to be addressed after the holidays in addition to the microtransactions. So let’s dial back on the rhetoric a bit with this one.

The majority of the Halo fanbase would disagree with you on that.

Not even close.

Size is completely irrelevant. I don’t even know what your argument is here.

That’s like saying Among Us is incomplete because it’s only requires 700mb of space on Xbox.

Halo 5 gameplay is BY FAR my least favorite of many video games in general. I hate it. Don’t go on saying it was the best….

You make some good points but in the long run of things the game can only get better from here which is how 343 works.:wink:
