In multiplayer be able to choose between a spartan II and spartan IV with special perks for each. In the lore spartan IIs are faster stronger and tire less easily. While spartan IVs have some organs replaced with artificial organs such as the lungs and some other organs as well. Im pretty sure this makes them less likely to bleed out.
So far this is what I have
Spartan II: Moves faster and hits harder than spartan IVs unable to sprint.
Spartan IV: Has slightly more health and has ability to sprint.
If we have spartan IIIs in game then I have no idea what to do with them they are clearly inferior to spartan IVs and Spartan IIs.
EDIT: sprinting is limited
EDIT: This is only for certain gamemodes
EDIT: I was just thinking about this and decided to add it to my idea but also add the different generations of armor I dont remember what the differences are but ill have to look it up but im pretty sure gen 1 has more protection than gen 2 and gen 3 is a blend of the two. (I dont remember what was different with gen 2 other than less protection gonna have to look it up.)
EDIT: Looked it up the more recent ones depended on more shields and had less armor. So this is what I have to add on to that idea: Gen 1 armor provides increased health when on health and less shields while Gen 2 has more shields but offers less protection when shields are down so less health when using a gen 2. gen 3 is a middle ground with normal stuff all around. The way this would fit is that brute and human weaponry in all halos deal more damage to health than shields. while all covenant weaponry deals more damage to shields than health (excluding needler, and some other weapons). So this could influence people to capitalize on the armors weaknesses by using certain guns, or use weapons that negate the strong sides of the armor. You would be able to choose what armor you use and change it on respawns if you want. This would also have certain armor skins looking different on each armor.

Spartan III sprint for limited time / less (if the IV was limited in your idea) than a IV. normal health like a II. Carry more grenades/ammo??

yeah I guess that works that actually works really well. I would say probably add two magazines for non power weapons and another magazine for power for balancing.
That could be cool but it should be an optional setting, or maybe you could lock game type or custom game to that type of spartan.
but why though, this isn’t overwatch with different character classes it’s Halo, the arena based slow FPS

Yeah I think it would only work in a specific mode. Like warzone and arena in 5. A multi generation training battle ground and a separate normal arena mode. It would also make a lot of canonical sense as anyone training to fight would want to experience historical battle and enemies. Maybe Locke trained against younger versions of Chief? (Only half joking)

yeah I felt like this idea was for a special gamemode that people could play I’ll have to put that in in an edit. I just thought that went without saying.

I just thought that this would add a new depth to the game and it makes sense canonically because we know that spartans IIs and Spartans IVs fight alongside eachother maybe in the simulations they fight against each other in fireteams.
Maybe have a classic Halo option or a AM option in the settings? Like turning off AM on Classic Mode? Idk that jus seems like a really good idea.

thats pretty cool. i was unaware of the differences between them. i just thought it was a difference in updated armor or the time in which they entered the spartan program.

Meh, from what I’m seeing your suggesting to appease both sides of the game, which I do think is possible but not at launch due to how it’s going at 343 studios. Mobility and maybe increased health will require an overhaul on the game’s sandbox and map design taking up resources for the game.
An example is with halo CE magnum in halo 5 or the truth map, the halo CE magnum plays very differently to the one in halo 5 with all of it’s base mechanics and the same with the truth map.
I just don’t think it’s worth the time or resources unless maybe Spartan 2’s and Spartan IV’s both have the same mobility speed.
