Multiplayer disc install

So I heard in a video that the multiplayer disc actually NEEDS to be installed to your HDD. We already knew that Xbox Live access and storage space would be required for Spartan Ops, but this was the first I have heard that I need just shy of 4gb of spare space to install the multiplayer content.

Not a big deal for the 250gb slim in my living room, but the 4gb slim in my gameroom won’t be able to play the multiplayer of Halo 4.

Considering the game comes out in about 3 weeks, it seems like information we should’ve known by now as consumers. Maybe it was listed somewhere and I just missed it.

Multiplayer disc needs to be installed if you want to launch it all from disc one. Otherwise, you can switch between discs, with hassle, without installing them.

It has been announced for months. You need 8gbs to play online. I don’t think it needs installed.

I thought disc 2 was a mandatory install like the Forza disc.

There are two disc?

Well then, maybe I picked it up wrong…?

I don’t know. I’m confused as well.

I’m pretty sure it is

buy an old 20 gig hardrive off of ebay and use that for the 4 gig slim. its an easy install. there are many videos on youtube that show you how to do it. I bought a 120 gig hardrive off of ebay for just 40 bucks and installed it on my 4 gig slim

Disc two is REQUIRED to be installed to access multiplayer period. You cannot play off the disc or anything.

ugh now i have to go through the hassle of buying a new -Yoink- hardrive and a data transfer cable…the things i do for this amazing game

Or you could just buy a thumbbdrive and install the disc on it.

why would you need a transfer cable for the 4 gig?

This is definitely the easiest, and cheapest, solution. Just buy one now and you’ll have no problems come November 6th.

How many GB do you need exactly for this? I have been keeping the same Xbox since 2007 (Halo 3 Xbox FTW) Can hold about 12gb. Down to 6gb at the moment, but I am sure I can make some room.

The official word is 8gb. Probably slightly less.

The multiplayer install is required.

You can not launch multiplayer from disc 2, its just a install disc.

Yes, I can plug in some USB stuff to my 4gb slim, but I still find it frustrating that there is still this misconception and they haven’t made it perfectly clear. There are plenty of people who may have replaced their 360s with a 4gb slim and will find they can’t play Infinty.

Not a giant issue, like I said, for most people. But we should have known and it should of been made clear much sooner.

What really bugs me is that I am going to have to wait for this to install. Ugh.

They haven’t made the fact that you’ll need at least 8GB of space for Halo 4 secret at all. In fact, it’s been mentioned over and over for several months now.
