I came to waypoint for this issue and it seems like many are having the same issue. Many people just want to complain, but it is a serious issue. PLEASE re-balance the way multiplayer games are matched. I figure it is determined by spartan rank. High level players that are trying to get back in are out matched. Level 151s and 152s are playing worse than level 80s on a regular basis. A large number of players have reset their profiles, so you have level 20s that have been playing since day one nonstop. Warzone has become unplayable due to large fire-teams, and if you are a decent level player that is the only way you can match in warzone. I know the game was meant to be more competitive, but the game is nearing its 5 year anniversary. I have always loved the game play, but if you are a decent level player then the game punishes you. For all the reasons listed above, I believe there is a large number of players having a hard time. THE MATCHING TIME!!! ooooo man. I try so desperately to enjoy the game, but it is killing me. I went 24 and 7 today and still managed to lose the game. The spartan ranks were near even, but the skill level wasn’t even close. Halo forever. Thank you for everything 343 and the near decade of fun, I hope something changes soon.
At the end of a ranked slayer game I opened the carnage report and I was on a team with 3 diamond 2’s and I was platinum 5 and opposition team was all unranked.

okay so this is completely wrong. spartan rank (ie SR82, SR152 SR125 is not what determines a players skill rating and is not what the game uses to match players together to create a balanced match,
the game matches players based on their Hidden (MMR) Match Making Rank which is basically like a hidden constant version of (CSR) competitive skill rank that never resets and is used for all game modes of matchmaking being tighter in competitive modes and lessened in social modes.
(CSR) is what you see when you reach a rank of onyx but all the ranks bronze to diamond have (CSR ) its just isn’t visible.
and the reason for those smurf accounts (the lvl sr 20s) is to have new (MMR) which they usually make lower by intentionally playing badly and losing games so they can play lower skilled players.

the unranked players mmr was probably around platinum and diamond hence why you match with them.
