With all the new and great customization options and armor coating I would like to see Halo go away from Red vs Blue.
Or at the least, put more colors in there, not just Red vs Blue: but Like, Green vs Brown, or White vs Black etc.
Or go away from the whole Team Colors and when you customize your Spartan’s coloring, they can keep that coloring in a game like Team Slayer, not just FFA.
I’m not sure how to make that change, or how they can get this done but I would like to see a that change IMO.
I was thinking about this as well earlier, I do think some modes should have it or have an option to turn it off all together so you can see everyones customization ! Or the other way around where it’s default red vs. blue and you can turn on the option to see everyone colors and etc.

I think this is a great topic! If outside of customs and FFA you cannot see the cosmetic you bought then that makes almost no incentive to purchase it. I didn’t even think about this. I guess going away from team colors would be a smart move I actually wouldn’t mind. How do you deem who is on which team though?
It really doesn’t matter what colour you see on your own monitor. I could have all the enemies set to fluorescent pink - and you could have them canary yellow. It doesn’t matter.
Heaps of people are colour blind - so red is an issue right off the bat.
And it would stop people changing their colours in FFA modes to camouflage themselves (eg. wearing white on a snow map).
You still get a chance to show off your chosen colours with pride in the pre and post game. Hell, you could even let everyone on your own team run around in their colours of choice - it doesn’t matter as long as the enemy is clearly demarcated by your chosen scheme.

But why does it have to be Red v Blue.
On my personal screen it could be Green v Yellow… or Pink vs Orange. It really doesn’t matter if you are seeing Red v Blue or another combination more to your liking.
As long as I know what colour I’m supposed to be shooting.
10% of males are red-green colour blind. I can’t believe a forced Red v Blue has persisted for so long.

100% agree. There needs to be color blind options. But OP was asking to have full custom colors in team matches. This will not work.

Oops. So they did.
That wouldn’t work at all. No sir.
Maybe you could have the option to let your own team run around in their custom colours… and just have the enemy appear as a uniform colour.
Otherwise there is going to be a lot of friendly fire. A lot.

That is an interesting idea, but that would mean you would be limited on what color you want. I mean, no one on your team could have the color of the opposing team.

The one advantage is that everyone gets to show off their coatings - and thus help 343 sell more.
You would have time to choose an enemy colour in the pregame - after you’ve had a chance to see your squad. You could even speed it up by having 2 or 3 preselected colours ready to go.

Nope, this is going to far. Custom armor, sure. This can be shown in campaign, firefight, and FFA. Team games need to be one color or another. If this is Blue or Red, or some color blind option. Not some random color.

You might not be able to customize colours easily though. In the update they stated the armour coatings were replacing our old primary and secondary colour system we’ve always had. It seems from the info available we cannot choose our colours for the coatings either, apparently the colours are baked into the coatings.
I’ll agree, I would love to see halo move away from just red v blue. But given the info we have I see it being pre coloured / weathered / battle scarred pieces we can only swap out, like Halo Reach without the ability to change colour. I’m not trying to dampen your enthusiasm, just add in food for thought from the info we have.
As things stand, I see red v blue for team based multiplayer matches… Sadly.
It’s always been red vs blue for team games… and everyone has been happy to give up their colours for the match.
Weird huh? So many people passionate about their colours and they rarely get to show them off.
Different obviously in FFA… but there is always the occasional player who makes a tactical decision on what to wear. Green for grassy / jungle maps. Dark colours for maps with lots of shadows. White for snowy maps… and so on. And kudos to them for being clever.
But now they want us to spend money on coatings… so they will need to give us more time to show them off. Maybe it will be that we can see each other in the pre and post game lobbies in our non-team armour.
Maybe each coating has a red or blue version just for team games.
Maybe we get to run around in our colours and you have to sort it out with a little enemy arrow that hovers the player (just kidding).

Bold italic… Not true for all. I have always complained about the fact we had to go strictly red v blue in Halo. Many other games allow teams with multiple colours / skins, and it’s easy to spot enemies and allies. I supported your view on this in another thread recently. I’m all for change too, but as I stated we might not easily be able to change our colours.

Out of interest. How do other games go about differentiating enemies from allies. Assuming it’s not those horrible coloured outlines they use in theatre mode.

In Call of Duty, Battlefied, it’s different factions and armies but some games use outlines. I actually think the outline would best fit Halo seeing as it’s Spatan v Spartan 24 / 7. How about a rogue Spartan team v UNSC Spartan team ? I think there are options and routes that can be tried and explored. But I feel it will be strictly red v blue for teams.

COD has when you move your reticle over someone it shows there name above, red being an enemy and blue is a friendly. Many games do teams right and Halo remains the one of the only big games to force players to remain different colors for teams. It’s a dated system and I think they should branch out on this.
> 2533274791998460;16:
> Halo, now, and forever, should be Red vs Blue. If you can’t see these colors, then have some option to compensate. But stop with this coating BS.
Theres many discussions on coatings, might be changed and might not be at this point. But either way multiplayer is going to be monetized as it’s free to play. Which is definitely a smart move, halo fans get new noobs to pummle on and tons of people or even kids get to experience Halo.
I’m all for the idea of removing team colors especially since I’ve never liked how Halo did it since I like the idea of being able to see how other players customize and personalize their characters, but theirs a problem to all of this. Halo already has issues with friendly fire and thats with team colors. Normally in other games this isn’t really a problem because their is no friendly fire where you can accidently kill your teammate with a grenade or rocket, but unless their is some other alternative way to tell teammates apart from enemies, then friendly fire incidents would skyrocket.
