Multiplayer Beta – Official Bug Report Thread

Continue to have issues signing into game. Had issues initially (separate post) and downloaded the update and continue to have issues. Path: initiate Halo wars 2, splash screen appears, then the manufacture and studio logos appear, Halo Wars sign on appears, depress button, Halo Wars 2 screen appears with option to skip “B”. Hangs at this point. Occurs consistently as I have tried approx. 7 times. Xbox 1. Hope this helps. Also recommend you provide gold packs to players who downloaded the beta and tried to sign on but could not. Players anticipate and want to participate in the latest product, you friends are talking about it in a party but all you can say, it hangs and you cant play. Understand it is a Beta and there will be bugs but recommend you provide some rewards to people who attempted, identified issues but could not play. Appreciate the studios effort to create a “great game”.

There seems to be moments where i will be playing at the start of the game 3 mins in and then it will say defeat but my friend says that he’s still playing. Please fix this it would be horrible to have this in the full game.

Unfortunately I’m unable to play as the game doesn’t load due to getting stuck at either the title screen or tutorial. If I do manage to get past the tutorial then I’m informed that another game config update is required, the game restarts and the whole process starts over again. I have tried to load the game approx 30 times over the last few days including 2 hours yesterday. Please see my feedback thread

My feedback: Domination is way too short! You guys need to eigther extend the time it takes to capture a point or extend the time where the objective spawns or decrease the amount of points you get per minute

I would also love to see some improvements on graphics on the battlefield, because it feels too cartoonisch.
I would also love better controle of individual troops
I would love to see an aditional resource like oil or fuel, which makes the game a little harder.
Please also fix the lagg issues and waiting time, it take around 15 minutes to start a dam game, 30 minutes to finally join up on your teammate, and sometimes the beta is even unplayable

-In the intro, between the 343 and the CA animations, there is some sort of texture glitch, every time i start the game
-Enemy units and other entities glitching out when they are covered by the fog of war sometimes
-Game crashed in the middle of a game once
-Couldn’t connect for some reason
-My game froze, although i could move around and select units. It is as if time had stopped. I had to quit the game
-Explosion residue texture sometimes going over units that were in it

I am unable to get past the screen that says “Thank you for your participation”. I hit a and nothing happens.

A bit fed up of seeing comments like this, it’s a BETA an 8 month early beta at that ! It’s not the full game and no where near the finished game, the idea is to test the game test the servers and find bugs glitches give suggestions on gameplay etc so the devs can work on and improve the gameplay by the time the game is released … you are not going to find a fully fledged tutorial mode with playable levels on a beta or a map that’s extremely detailed and perfect give them a break - also click your left stick on the map it will point out and vibrate your team mates controller so they can look at what your trying to show them

There was instances when playing deathmatch and domination that i would randomly lose, even thoughi have enough units/points to still be in the games.
there is also problems with custom waypoints where units would either not leave the base or they would get to the destination but run around in circles.
there were also times where my hornets would be attacking a target(usually ground) and dealing damage but their bullets would be shooting someplace else

Dude this a bug report thread, not a suggestion thread…

This bêta is totaly useless, we can’t play or test this game with thoses crashes, lags, disconnected, the impossibility to launch games, or when we are on game to play…
Can you justfix all thoses bug and re open the bêta ? I can just play one time to HW2, I return on HW1…

It isn’t so much a bug as a balancing issue, but I wasn’t sure where to report that so I’ll put it here. From the point of view of both fighting and using them, Atriox’s jump back brutes are far too powerful for their own good. They have overkill amounts of health and damage, can be accessed and built almost immedietly for a cheap cost, and essentially make any other faction or unit irrelevant. I have tried to build and upgrade all anti infantry assets against them to no avail, and have even tried aircraft (yes by this games established triangle, infantry beats aircraft, but one would assume a Melee focused unit would have issues with a plane) and enemies have tried the same thing against me, with no luck when I use hammers. It doesn’t seem a very fair unit when I can 2v1 because my partner disconnected and not break a sweat because my brutes never die, no matter how they try to build against me. They require serious balancing nerfs to make unsc (or other future covenant leaders) enjoyable and actually viable. I personally would like to see the top of the tech trees, but have never had a game last longer then 10-15 minutes when there are hammer brutes involved for either side.

well I have waited for well over 5 min watching a frozen screen by now to see wether anything happened.
Guess I should just see what happens when I quit out of the game
And my internet is up and running

I am fully aware that 57mins is too crazy to begin with, I was playing defence but the enemy wouldnt get past destroying more than 1/3 bases. I am a complete noob, might be a balance issue though.

[BUG REPORT]
I discovered a bug (verified 3 times) that happens with a full army (80/80) (Should even work with less units) of Jetpack brutes. The player must spend a commander point on the Jetpack Brute’s mines ability, this also allows you to enter inside an enemy’s building with your jetpack brutes for extra damage.
Make sure to have selected ALL UNITS, Press “Y” on an enemy building, the brutes will attack it using their ground-pund ability and then they will remain inside the building.
When, let’s say, the 60-70% of your units have hit the build, the game will end with a DEFEAT for YOU, no matter what.

Covenant snipers need some kind of improvement to develop. They are useless right now. The UNSC snipers are OP.

The loading match takes to long to load beginning of match.

I recently got a defeat screen, my game ended, but my team was winning, I don’t know if my teammate was still playing.

I found the loading times to be really long Also I couldn’t control were i moved for a while (but that might be just a controller glitch) also is there a way to activate chat

couple of things i’d like to see

  • jump pack brutes…they need a direct nerf, they can instantly kill buildings, they’re cheap, have low supply and build extremely fast. they need a supply increase and a damage decrease…maybe a build time too. - Wolverines dont really seem to do anything, i’ve had a vulture tank 3 wolverines with only 1 nightingale support, their damage is quite low - Snipers seem to have a visual bug, when they hit their target it seems that they are firing explosive rounds - the brute leader ability in which a bunch of giant lasers come down…this can 1 shot a base…i feel this needs to be toned down - when the game starts, if you’re quick the ui wheel can completely break, not allowing you to highlight some options and making the direction wheel completely random compared to your control movements. - Leader powers like the unsc turret seems to require supply to call down, is this intended as a temporary structure shouldnt cost supplyOverall i like the style in which this game is going, i feel that a primarily infantry army with vehicle support is how the game should be. Unlike the mass grizzly or hawk spam from hw1

  1. A good nerf is to higher the unit cost to 2 to 4. The must destroy a buinding, but if you fail, you are screwed!
