I had one bug where it crashed suddenly, and it seems I have to wait for a few minutes on the main menu in order to continue without being frozen. Other than that everything else seems fine for now.
FIX THE MENUS
The other thing I noticed while playing is that the menu wheel on bases will sometimes not show when an item is in que. You also removed the ability to cancel a unit, which was a good feature in the past.
Tutorial on launch causes game on freeze 12/15 (80%) of launches. Unable to make it to the main menu.
- 80%+ of the time (15 tries thus far), it freezes up on launch and goes to a blank screen (basically the default screen where you are supposed to press the menu button to start it - turns a dark black and is completely frozen). Either freezes when you press the button but before you can click on the tutorial B button.
- The tutorials from the beginning usually freeze up. You need to press B after it plays for about 3-5 seconds (immediately press B will cause it to freeze and letting it play longer than 10 seconds will cause it to freeze). Circling back to the tutorial after you make it to main screen is the only way to watch it and the only way to get the game to launch.
Suggestion: Remove the tutorial from the default launch as it is extremely hard to make it to the main menu. Game is extremely unstable with it. If you can make it to the main screen, the beta becomes playable and relatively stable.
I have downloaded the demo twice now, but I may give up on the demo now especially since it takes a long time to download 13 GBs. All I get now is the " thank you for playing the beta screen" , it says press A to continue, but it is frozen on that screen and I can not move forward. I hope somehow this is fixed or the beta is extended.

Yeah. I just made a post on this. Its when it goes to the tutorial video things freeze up on the launch page. You have to wait so long before you can press B but if you wait too long for the video to play it freezes to. Thus far, 80% of the time I can’t make it to the main menu where I can select a match.
Beta just crashed mid game, the screen just went black and then kicked me out.
GT: BozzyDoo
Happened approximately 14:50 GMT.
There’s a few issues with the game freezing but then resuming fine, no other problems than that.

I found pressing x whilst selecting the queued unit seemed to cancel it for me. Although maybe it just built and I didn’t realise!
i downloaded it last night and can’t get past the start screen. it just locks up.
just tried to uninstall and reinstall. still locks up right after i press start. any ideas?
Needs a ridiculous amount of polish it’s practically unplayable. Please make this a good game
Issues that I’ve encountered(some of these issues may just be because the game is not even close to coming out, but I’m going to state the issues anyways)
1.Server instability - Several times I have had people lag out of the match right at the beginning of the game making the game unplayable because the “waiting for player” screen will not disappear(probably because the players just dashboarded).
2. Title Screen crashes and freezes are incredibly frequent and can require a handful of attempts to get past.
3.There are hardly any audio queues for the actions you as the player do in the game. There is hardly any unit audio when they are attacking making difficult to know what your units are doing.
4. Seems like and incredible amount of attack animations are missing for the in game units. The air units that my ally created in a match I had simply hovered over the enemy armies static while making a really generic machine gun sound, but no animations could be seen.
5. After selecting a structure from the base there is a short but very annoying time zone that immobilizes your cursor.
Non-mechanical criticism
1.The domination game mode ends WAAAAAAAAAAY too fast
Gets past title screen and completely crashes after pressing the Menu button on XBox One. Have restarted multiple times. No luck.
Just keep trying and press spam X before the animation tutorial screen but you must wait until the first animation screen with the tank is running smooth.
Keeps getting stuck once in game at “waiting for players” while the game goes on without me
Hey all,
I had a brief chance to play this morning, and here are some things that I’ve noticed in that time:
During the tutorial video sequence, I experienced significant lag on a couple of occasions. There were also some frame rate issues in that video. Not sure if this video will remain in the full game, but wanted to point those things out.
There were some significant lag issues as well in matchmaking. I suspect that is due to the beta, but it seemed like players were added to parties and then left or were dropped immediately, and that cycle ran through a few times before I could get into a game.
In the game, there were no bullet animations, which made it extremely difficult to get an understanding of what was happening in the skirmishes. I would send forces out, and then had to watch the battle play out in full so I could see whether my troops had been effective or not.
After about thirteen minutes of playing, the beta froze, and I was lagged out of the game.
Other things of note that are not necessarily bugs: Some of the UI in the leader properties menu is a little opaque, and can get washed out as the game continues behind it. Also, it’s great that during the leader selection screen, the opposing team’s choice of leaders is hidden, but it would be excellent if that were to continue into that loading screen - to make for more tactical gameplay.
More notes to come.

I have had no issues regarding 1- 4 and agree with 5 and NM 1, especially NM 1.
still i can’t play halo wars 2 as it sticks at the screen thats tell you about the beta
2 things the ranking system is bad, I went 10-0 my first 10 games and captured at least 5 points a game and never lost a base and i got platinum rank.
2. When the units shoot the enemy the bullets will sometimes be going random directions.

Of course it needs a ridiculous amount of polish it’s still 8 months away from release !!! It’s an early beta build jeez you guys are all expecting a full 100% perfect working game that’s not what this is about
Your TESTING the beta build your meant to encounter all of these bugs errors crashes etc so that the devs can find them now and fix them while continuing to work on the game and improve it
If you don’t like it stop trying to play it until either a real official demo is released or the game comes out but there’s no point everyone sitting here moaning like spoilt children, you didn’t pay to download the beta

No they didn’t, it’s not a feature that is visible on screen but simply press “x” on the unit you wish to cancel.

> 1st time I downloaded the beta, it took about 3 hours to load and when it was finished, I tried to play but couldn’t get past the “Welcome to the Beta” and press “A” page. I tried fixing this by going back to the dashboard and quit the game to try it again. Same thing. Tried to wait 4 minutes before pressing A but still wouldn’t work. I repeated this process till I decided to uninstall and reinstall it around 3 am last night. Woke up and did the whole thing over again, still couldn’t get past the “Welcome to the Beta” page. than did a hard reset on my console several times until this afternoon where I decided to uninstall and reinstall the game AGAIN. I am still stuck on the the Welcome to the Beta page. How is it they haven’t been able to fix the simple problem?
I have the same exact problem.
