Try mashing B to skip the tutorial cinematic as soon as you press start at the first menu page. Worked very well after getting passed bugged cinematic
From what I know the fix is just taking your time and when reaching the start menu wait around a full minute before pressing start
I have to be able to play this game as it has froze everything I got to main menu. After pressing start the game freezes at loading data and it’s very frustrating as none of my friends are experiencing this problem
Sometimes when starting a game it says waiting for players and no buttons do anything a you cant affect the game even though everyone else is moving.
Right when I start up the game it gives me this message and I’m not able to click “A” and go passed it. Any thoughts?
I want to play the BETA, but can’t because theirs no option of playing it for free on the Xbox Store (from what I’m seeing).
Am I required to pre-order the full game in order to play? If so, why?

Do you have an other controller plugged in? Thats what happened to me, the game thought the plugged in controller was the controller that I wanted to use instead of my wirreless controller

Nope, I only have 2 wireless controllers.
Sounds like a lot of people are having the same problem as me. I’ve restarted my xbox 3 times. The game loads up after a lengthy black screen, I press A I get the Microsoft, 343, and CA logos. I get the main screen whee you have to press the menus button to continue.
Oh, now I got to the training
Anytime I start it up if I press start to quickly it crashes
So to everyone who is getting to the faint screen with the logo and skip button. I had this same problem and the only thing that has started working for me is spamming the b button as soon as you press start. It immediately throws you into the next screen and you can control it from there. It helps me but still needs to be fixed ASAP.
halo wars 2 is code named for some users mine was called ‘legdrop’. Dont know why? And it is extremely buggy even for a beta it crashes constantly and is a struggle to join friends.

Ok, so I had read about the issues the beta has with people not being able to load past the start up menu. Apparently as I was told that if you wait several minutes at the start screen before advancing it can sometimes fix the issue. Well after 50 attempts to load the game. I rarely make it past the start screen and have only heard cutters voice in the tutorial once for a brief half a sentence before it freezes and I must reload the game. I have hard reset my Xbox a few times. Waited 10-15 at the start menu. It literally freezes at almost the exact identical place every time. Right after you press start.

343i great job on the beta but my ONLY critisism about the game is that it is a bit too cartoony for my liking and allot of other peoples. It would look amazing if it was more gritty like in the CGI trailer. That trailer was amazing. Great game though!
