I’ve downloaded and installed the beta twice now and I haven’t been able to get past the first start up screen. I’ve had a black screen for five minutes, I’ve had it lock up on the start up screen a half a dozen times, and I’ve been booted back to the opening credits four times. I might try playing tomorrow and if it still doesn’t work I can write this game off as literally unplayable.
Try playing offline to get past the menu screen freeze. Worked for me. Downside is you can’t play online. Not sure is signing into Xbox live after starting a game or anywhere after the menu screen might make it crash.
Update: you can’t sign into Xbox live past the menu video tutorial. If you close the game after getting past the screen freeze part and restart the gagme after signing into Xbox live it should work fine.
There is a bug that when your winning it pops up defeat. When you get to the scoreboard it says my team is victorious. Once we search for a new game me and my buddy notice we went down a rank.
Just got into a match. It said “Waiting for Players”, but I could see my starting base. I was unable to do anything and the screen was just stuck on “Waiting for Players”.
The strange thing is, my ally was able to capture points, etc. I could see the notifications for capturing a point and whatnot. I could even see my ally’s troops moving on the map. So I guess I was the only one affected by this. The only solution was to exit out and open the game again.
Beta does not work and will not load past the start screen. Tried all methods listed in the post thus far and nothing yet.
A bit jarring, switching from HW1, but so far I really like it.
The game has trouble getting past the tutorial screen before it freezes and I have to restart the game
In the French version, when we are winning and that the ennemy team is going to be defeated, Cutter says that we are loosing. Even if we have more 2/3000 tickets than ennemies and we control the majority of checkpoints.
Why does this beta keep freezing? This is the fourth restart so far. Great -Yoinking!- beta you -Yoink-.
I have restarted the game, my xbox, and even reinstalled the game but everytime i try to play i instantly get the error: “The connection to the online services has been lost” dozens of times. Im right beneath my router and my internet is actually amazing quality so its not a matter of bad connection, especially when all other multiplayer games work. Anyone have a fix?
I opened Halo Wars 2, pressed A instead of the menu button; nothing happened, then pressed the menu button and it crashed.
Restarted and I got to the download the update, then it crashed at the start of the tutorial.
It put me back to the “thank you for joining beta thing” and I’m now finished the tutorial
First game ended in a disconnect. Just as we started I went to get the scattered resources, clicked on my base and “players left” came up
I’m in the Shetland Isles (don’t know if that makes any difference)
Just to sum up the problems facing (Amazing game by the way! Domination isn’t that fun though):
- Spartan health glitches for some reason. It shows that he is low and needs healing but he cannot be healed and he remains low HP. - Spartan jumps out of vehicles with Y, this is very aggravating when trying to use the Y ability of the vehicle he is in. - Probably have heard about the blue screen upon starting a game and you cannot move. - Sometimes battle animations do not show up.That is all I have noticed in my 12 hours of playing lol. All and all I would say it is a great game. Sorry if I show up more than once in this thread, I just thought I should sum up everything.

Same problem here, I´ve posted on every forum to try get an answer.
I’ve gotten pass the menu consistently by immediately pressing the start button and B. However, it always freezes when I get in and says “waiting for other players.”
Nothing worked for tutorial freeze. Same place every time.
I reinstalled 3 times, restarted at least 27 times and nothing is working. You could at least push out a patch. It’s more like an Alpha, not a Beta.
Anybody else experiencing no loading and freezing at the menu 13 gig piece of crap
Every time I start start the game and get to the halo wars 2 screen and press start it freezes. When I was not logged in to a profile I was the tutorial video and could not sign in. I’ve restarted the got 20 some times now, I’ve disconnected my power supply from my xbox, the wall, and I waited for the light to turn off on the power supply. I’ve uninstalled and reinstalled. I cleared all my downloads. The same thing just keeps happening. This is the only time I’ve ever posted on a form and it’s because I care. I want to play but until this is resolved I cannot do so.
Please fix the bug that kicks you to the dashboard when you are about to start a new multiplayer game.

I had the same problem, you just have to press “X” in the title screen.
You will have to select a profil, just confirm yours, and normally the game will start correctly.
Finally get into a game aaaannnnddd crashes
