Multiplayer... Based... Storyline?

Please DO NOT make something PvP Focused. I hope what I read was either not true
or not being implemented the way I think it would be… These are my thoughts and opinions, feel free to agree or disagree.
I know I will probably draw a bunch of PvP heads, but that is fine.

What I wouldn’t want:
To be forced to play PvP just to unlock everything, to see everything, to be apart of everything.
I do not want to have to fight other players if I do not have to, I quit from PvP back in 2018, from ALL games
It was not going well for my health or attitude, I know there are a lot who do not play PvP still, if not for different reasons.
PvP Focused Content is a solid 0/10 for me, if it is Co-Op, or PvE and PVP, meaning you can achieve it anywhere, than that is 100% Good with me.

What I would want:
PvE like Spartan Ops, but not as repetitive, give us a legit story, like Halo Reach, where we see and use our own Spartans.
I generally never get a team that actually wants to work together, so avoiding the HAVE TO play with others, is alright by me.
If we got a Spartan Ops, that had its own Cutscenes with our own Team, instead of someone else who doesnt really matter to OUR story
that would be cool, if the missions were not ALL recycled areas from PvP and the Campaign, that is also the right thing
NOW, I do not mind a few repeats from Multiplayer or Campaign, but when it is 90% that, and 10% new, that is a MEH.

Basically, if you are going to do 100% Multiplayer Based Content… do not make it story based, that just sounds too weird.
However, if you are going to make it side-by-side with PvE modes, then I do not care.
Just as long as I Do not have to be FORCED to play something I do not want to play. That is my main point.
If you have a Multiplayer that is Story Driven, thats cool, unique even, BUT at the same time… feels super out of place
that would work for a whole Side story that is PvE Based, not PvP Based.

Just my thought. I am still curious how things turn out. Hopefully not another PvP Focused Halo 5 again
Really liking what I am seeing, and looking forward to the beta, if I can get it HAHA.
Again, this is MY THOUGHTS, on MY PERCEPTION on what I read… Hopefully I am wrong, and PvP will stay PvP
but in the “Multiplayer Menu” that might have Firefight, Spartan Ops… other PvE modes, there might be a Player Focused Story… that is what I would like to see
getting to sandbox Zeta Halo and whatever other locations (if there are any not on the ring in the story) and being able to play MY OWN Spartan, that I think people would want more than a Story Driven PvP.

They said it will be fairly close to MCC in terms of the battlepass.
So by that it means there will be pve/pvp challenges to progress your battlepass.

But personally if they don’t have atleast a good few “Only PvP” things to do, There will be not a lot of reason for alot of f2p players.
But it also sounds like you need a chill bunch of people to play with and not take it super serious my friend. Just find a nice chill group of peeps and grind some pvp, That’s what me and “the bois” do

I’ve said it before, IMO Multiplayer should not be part of the canon, it instantly restricts what they can do with multiplayer, if they try to strictly follow it. That’s kind of a tangent here but yeah.

I’m hoping they have firefight at some point, although I’m one of those guys that will try to get the highest score so hopefully its group points.

There are plenty of examples in Halo’s canon where significant things were done without Master Chief or major characters. I honestly think going on missions and adding lore with “your spartan” is a great idea. They can then bring it all together in the official campaign with Master Chief too.

Yeah like Fireteam Crimson with Spartan Ops! I’d love if they did something like that again, bring OUR spartan into PvE environments outside of ‘just’ Firefight.

Easiest explanation, and the one that they seem to be going with a lot, is “It’s a simulation”. Bam. There you go. The fallback explanation for anything that gets weird like Pizza Slice AR’s and Grifball. Program some casual experience into a vr sim and you can do the yoink-all you want without any limits. If they want to do more and feel like getting creative, more power to them - but the sillier things will likely always be ‘simulated’ environments that just happen to look like every other multiplayer game we go into.

I honestly want our experiences to be canon because that would make them feel special. We can go on side missions where we experience the setup of the next main campaign expansion. Plenty of ways to go about it in a logical sense when compared to our role in the Halo universe.

We were never John or Noble Six, but we can be us - be it in MP or in something like SpOps - and I actually like that idea. Where our spartan is us / a character of our own creation, and yesss more side-missions. Imagine if some of the story expansion(s) sometimes involves our spartan too~

Still, this sort of storytelling also does mean they have to be careful about how they reference it elsewhere. Fireteam Crimson did a good enough job of that I think, where it’s vague about who they are and are never truly defined - it’s left up to us to imagine it. To a lesser extent, Fireteam Apollo and their always changing roster.

I mean they would already know what the books, and future Master Chief campaign would cover so they would just work around that. I doubt this would happen, but we can hope.

Campaign, Multiplayer PVP and Multiplayer PVE will all be getting new content as the game evolves. As far as multiplayer getting a storyline, I highly highly highly doubt that any form of Multiplayer story mode(s) would force you to do PVP, that simply makes no sense.
Halo Infinite will be recieving plenty of PVP content as well as alleged PVE content, perhaps more than any previous Halo! Don’t woryy bro

I’m in the same boat. Even as an extremely competitive pvp player, i’m also a lore nerd who loves the story as well as pve experiences. I hope PvE gets the tender love and care that it deserves

Having multiplayer seperate from the game’s canon will honestly do nothing but hurt the game at this point. We can’t keep changing the canon like socks or we’ll end up like Star Wars with branching timelines and stuff. gross. ew. no.

And I don’t really see very many major restrictions? Can you name some? As far as things like armor and armor effects, ie the haunted helmet, that stuff is non-canon but still part of multiplayer. You can have both and have both parties involved be happy.

Did they say they were going to make multiplayer canon? I hope they dont do that tbh. I wonder whats going to come from games like action sack

Yes, MP is canon, like it was in Halo 4 and 5, and as demonstrated in both games, being canon does not impact its functionality.

People tend to make more of an issue of MP being canon than what’s called for, I think.
