Yesterday I was playing a match on slayer and I had a TREMENDOUS amount of lag,it was completely impossible to play, so I waited a few minutes but the lag didn´t stop, so I left the game and I got banned. I think microsoft should watch how bad is your connection and let you left the game without banning you if your connectio is so bad that you can´t even play the game properly.
NOTE: Iwasn´t losing the match,my team was winning and I was in 2nd place, so I didn´t left the game for that, it was for my awful internet conexion at the moment.
Completely agree with you. The way they have tackled quitting is ridiculous and senseless.
People who quit for no reason are a problem yes.
But sometimes you might suddenly have to leave to do family stuff without warning, but no grandma in the hospital, lemme just finish this match
Not everybody has crazy fast fibre optic internet (weird right? Get out of the past geez!) So you might be lagging crazy bad, causing a problem for your team mates.
And NOBODY likes playing a 1v4.
Banning people doesn’t solve the problem, all you are doing is loosing players. If I got banned for 2 months for having a bad connection like lots of people are, I would most likely not bother playing again after 60 damn days. and that’s coming from a Halo youtuber.
How to solve your problem.
-
If your connection is unstable, you should be ALLOWED to leave WITHOUT PUNISHMENT. You are literally no benefit to your team mates when you are lagging and you might as well not be in the game.
-
If your whole team has left and there you are against 4 people on your own you should be ALLOWED to leave WITHOUT PUNISHMENT. No team of 4 wants to play hide and seek with one guy and one guy doesn’t want to take on 4 people at once. Or having a concede victory option, if your team goes down to 2 or more players your team can then vote to give them the victory.
-
If your team is getting wrecked beyond belief, if you quit you should be punished. You can’t win all the time, deal with it.
Long term bans are stupid, seriously. Life happens. If it were short term bans that have no build up that would work FAR better. It’s small and annoying things that get through to people.
- if you quit even once, you’re banned for searching for a game for 5 mins. Any longer than that, and they will switch to another game thus loosing a player. Quitting should always result In a very short ban, so timmy can get back to playing halo after having to quit his match to go and see his dear gran in the hospital.

I’m not even sure they could do what you’re requesting re checking if you were lagging.

Hundreds of games have a little connection indicator by your name in online gameplay. So yes, it is easily possible haha.

I wasn’t lying, just wasn’t clear. The punishment is accumulative.

It’s easily possible to open a large torrent on your PC to make your connection lag and then quit freely as well.
One of my friends was trying to get the damage boost on Orion and he died 3 times and he got banned for suicides. LOL
