Is it just me or do the new recordings sound weird and bad compared to other Halo games?
i think it sounds fine. it was a nice change up from the previous games.
every game the voice sounds slightly different
It’s no big deal to me, but I really like it.
Maybe the announcer got old and his voice aged.
It always sounds different the first times we hear it with a new game. Then we get used to it.
I like the new one, he sounds more excited
Even the way he says “Lost the lead” sounds bad.
Its too fast, in past titles it was a little slower and sounded better
I read somewhere that the voice is a placeholder and was quickly mashed up for E3.
It’s alright IMO, but even then they could just be placeholders.
I think the announs=cer soounded best in Halo 2. If he could use announcements from Unreal Tournament II however, he would be beyond epic.
Why rerecord the ‘double kill’, ect. It’s pointless. We’ve adapted to the original Halo announcer sounds and now they rerecorded them ALL. I think some sound pathetic and that’s bad coming from me. “Eliminate the enemy team”, well what else are we supposed to do. “Enemy team nearing victory”, I don’t mind this one because it’s helpful and it wasn’t in any other Halo game before so we can’t compare it with another sound.
But seriously, why didn’t they just use Reach’s announcer? Why bother rerecording it all and making it sound weirder?
It does sound kinda weird, but it’s probably just because we’re all used to how it sounds in Reach. I really like how he says Assassination, though. That actually sounds really cool.

Yeah XD lol
I’m not really bothered by how the announcer sounds (its still Steitzer), but I am bothered by what he is announcing. I have always liked the announcer, but I don’t want him to turn into Captain Obvious. Stuff like “Ordnance Ready,” “Request Confirmed,” and “Assassination” does not need an announcement. On the opposite side of the coin, he has stopped announcing a lot of the cool stuff he used to announce. For example, he does not announce every multikill obtained during a streak, only the highest level achieved. Ex: he doesn’t say dbl kill, triple kill, OvK, he just says “Overkill.”
Also, I agree that they should not have re-recorded announcements that we are already accustomed to. We’ll get used to the new ones of course, but the change is jarring nonetheless.
