Multiplayer and Campaign aren't Halo's future

I don’t care what anyone says. Multiplayer and campaign are not Halo’s future. Custom games and Forge are the future.

Halo 6 needs to make the most of Forge and Custom Games if 343i wants it to be successful. Halo 5’s forge is already fantastic (the Forge team at 343i are amazing BTW). There have been some great custom games built in Halo 5. The problem is there isn’t anyway to share them. I recognize a file browser is coming to Halo 5 but if 343i wants to really take advantage of custom games built in forge, they need a custom games browser in Halo 6.

If 343i can ensure a proper custom games lobby is included in Halo 6, giving players the ability to find custom games online, they will be golden. Couple that a functional file share and Custom Games options and Halo 6 will be the best selling game yet.

Now there should also be good multiplayer and campaign (a lot better on that campaign front after Halo 5’s let down), but an emphasis should be placed on Forge and Custom games. Allowing players to essentially create free content via a custom games browser will get Halo 6 very far.

I can see it getting people to be more creative and enjoy it in the long run. Though Halo is an Arena shooter, you can’t put emphasis on custom games in this sort of situation. I would hope if anything they spend an equal amount of effort with all aspects of the game.

Agreed. Halos past was built strongly off a good story for a fps game and it had a unique and addictive multiplayer that added longevity with the enhanced options of customs. It needs everything to have equal treatment in dev time cuz the past games have shown it won’t hold up if you lack in other areas.

It’d be unbelievably irresponsible to push aside Campaign and Multiplayer—two of the oldest and most expected features of the franchise—aside for Forge and Custom Games. Don’t get me wrong, the latter two are fantastic in Halo 5, but there should be equal priority on all of these aspects.

I buy the game for the campaign, stick around for the multiplayer, and enjoy customs whenever I have the opportunity. All three are needed for a complete game.

I don’t mean to push it aside entirely. Obviously you can’t have any good customs without good game mechanics which comes from multiplayer. I said it would be nice to make campaign and multiplayer good, but I would like to see a little more emphasis on custom games. I trust the campaign is going to be good since they have to make up for Halo 5. Multiplayer is already pretty solid (classic playlist?). What needs work is customs.

Tl;Dr the title of this thread is clickbait for the most part.

I see what you mean: hype up Custom Games and Forge, both of which go hand in hand, the same way you’d hype up the Multiplayer or the story, and even have some sort of browser/lobby for fan-made game-modes on fan-made maps. That sounds like a really good idea, though it’s easier said than done.

I do agree on the fact that Forge and Custom Games has been the most fun part of Halo 5 so far.

Exactly
