Multi Species Play

If there is one thing I miss, that’s playing as the Arbiter. It was so much fun getting a glimpse into the other side. I would love to see the same in H6. but expanded on. It is already assumed that we will be jetting all over the universe and not just stuck on the old ring and that over 10 years there will be some DLC. Why not have some Sangheili & Jiralhanae missions? Even have a 3 species multiplayer or 4 with the Forerunner Soldiers. Really let loose on the cannon.

It’s never been said that Halo Infinite is going to be supported for 10 years. The actual quote is found here.

“It’s really about creating Halo Infinite as the start of the next ten years for Halo and then building that as we go with our fans and community”

Infinite is the start of Halo for the next 10 years, that means that this game will kick off their new vision for Halo. I’m sure infinite will be supported for a decent amount of time post launch but 10 years is something I do not realistically see happening.
Look at Destiny 2 for example, Bungie are barely keeping that game full of content for the time since it released. Halo isn’t going to be able to do it either - it’s just not that type of game.

I’d love to get some campaign expansions for infinite. There’s a lot of story to tell on Zeta Halo. A world of opportunity is there.

We don’t know what they will do. They fraked up Halo 4 Spartan Ops Season 2, but maybe they learned their lesson…

Anyways, I want to play as something else besides human.

A DLC set during the years of the Forerunners would be quite amazing, especially diving a little in the lore and maybe encountering the gruesome things that happened during Zeta Halo’s hayday.

A flashback to the Forerunner days would be amazing. They could probably pull that off through a human memory genesong activation or even a forerunner soldier memory. Sublime.

DLC during the grunt rebellion where you play on both sides, a grunt fighting for his people and an elite trying to quell them

Honestly I think it would be good for Halo to stop further exploring the Forerunners. They’ve been utterly demystified in a way that has negatively impacted the atmosphere of the franchise.

Not a bad idea but it’s been said that the campaign will double-down on John. From that and 343’s focus on Spartan Super Soldiers, I doubt we will see the another side of the campaign or another playable species in game. However, considering the anticipated 10 year lifespan of Infinite, maybe we’ll get some DLC surprises here and there, I would be alright with that. They did an OK job in Halo 2 (despite the change in perspective being awkwardly abrupt during the battle of Earth).

Totally agree here I think maybe 5 years would suffice but they need to have the next game out by then just games now days are taking forever to make. But a few campaign expansions and lots of new multiplayer maps over the course would be nice.

I dont see the initial campaign release doing that, but I think its almost certain to be in a DLC at some point. I could take it or leave it. Honestly, from a first person POV, the game plays exactly the same, but you can go invisible and you spawn with a different factions weapon and nades.

Why do you lean that way when H2 & 3 did it?

I truly do see Halo infinite lasting 10 years, Halo 5 came out in 2015, I can honestly see tons of DLC and purchasable characters to play as.

I agree there’ll be long term support for the game but I can’t see 10 years. Purchasable characters and cosmetics only last so long til people get bored. Unless they’re bringing out a short campaign every year it’ll be tough.
Let alone Xbox One would be 17 years old by the end of that cycle too. Dropping a console due to technical limitations loses a playerbase

I don’t think it should happen except maybe in a later DLC. Infinite needs to focus on Chief especially after Halo 5.

I would love to see mutli-species play explored in campaign and even custom games. Perhaps 343 could tweak mobility, health, damage etc. to give each species a more unique play style and throw this into a warzone style huge game type. As for competitive arena, that needs to be as straight forward as possible IMO. Custom Games would be a riot though!

As a side note what if one of the buffs to playing as a grunt (to better exemplify low intelligence) was to have random stick control inversion during aiming or movement. Players would probably hate this, but it would be so funny if playable grunts were in a way neurologically nerfed.

Elites: No sprint but higher movement speed and higher shields.
Brutes: No shields but much higher health and regens quicker, more melee damage and speed boost with gravity hammer.
Jackels: no shields, High sprint speed and slow walk speed, only race able to use arm shield, no flinch damage when sniping.
Grunts: no sprint, no shields, low health, slow walk speed, cant melee, can only use small arms and heavy weapons, suicide explosion ability, gets a reload buff to heavy weapons, 2x damage while in near 3 or more allies.

I was just thinking that there should be differences in the races. However, just to make it easier for online play, duplicate spartan and elite skills. Brutes would need Chieftan armor or above to have shields. It would be cool as heck to be one of the jackal species Using the full shield or the arm shields from Reach. Armor mods/upgrades to be purchased with points or reqs. So many delightful possibilities.

The new console will only be 10 years old at that point, or 11. Either way. They already said spinoffs would happen. They will probably be built off the H6 platform like ODST was on H3. Who knows where they will go, but its a good premise.
