Multi-player should have Destiny's "end game early" function

I’ve been on the balance in the crucible of both heavy wins and heavy losses and it’s entirely based on matchmaking populations to determine the strength of one team versus another.

I think 343 should focus on making a completely fun and engaging multiplayer aspect before moving to end the matches early. Let players do different things for different rewards kind of things like Halo 3 allowed. Multiple maps, but multiple game types to engage at different distances or intervals or both.

why not just use tennis rules and make it so once a team is a certain amount ahead (lets say 15 kills ahead in a slayer, or whatever) the game just ends with that team the victor? I know how important it is to leave things open for competitive (in other words tourney) play but matchmaking is almost never that close or evenly matched.

If people don’t one a premature end, then the game should give an option to end. Let’s say if two put of four leave the team, the two can be given an option to end the game if they don’t want to continue. If the game continues and one other player leaves, the last player is given a second option to end the game.

Though now I think about it. If you’re a full team, then you should overall not be able to remake the game to prevent loss.

I’d like that. I’m a good player but I don’t play with a team, so when I’m playing and losing horribly because a full squad of sweats is obliterating my team, I’d rather end it early than get waffle-stomped for 10 minutes

A “vote to concede” option accessed through the pause menu might be good, but I’d really hate to see an automated match ending system like that. It was one of the things I disliked about Destiny. Matches should play out completely, not end prematurely. We’ve all been in matches that, while at one point seeming hopeless, got turned around in a surprising twist.

That’s never happened in Destiny 2. If the game ends early because one team is dominating it’s not even remotely close to being a winnable situation.

It happened quite frequently actually. The conditions for mercy ending was only having 1.6x score of your opponent. It wasn’t uncommon for team stackers to end a game of control in the few minutes by just denying the nearest enemy zone while two other people capped the others. Happened A LOT during TK.

I’m all for it… as long as the mercy rules are clearly defined.

It could actually create a bit of tension. “Warning you are 20 points down - Mercy protocols about to be enacted”.

You can still stage a comeback of course… it just has to be now.

CoD’s “Nuke em all” mercy killing option was kinda funny and useful when matchmaking went completely sideways.

I have created a post in the Halo Infinite subforum stating my reasons why I would remove the global statistics for social games, or at least propose a change in them.

Sounds like an interesting function. Didnt know that Destiny has it.
As i understand its a “surrender” Option.
Would make sense.

I think a vote to resign would be better. I know a few shooters that have that option and works fairly well
