First Gears 4, now Halo Wars 2.
In Gears 4 I got the SP because I wanted all the maps, but it turned out all the maps were free anyway and I just got access to them for private matches.
In Halo Wars 2 I didn’t want to drop an extra 20 bucks on an already iffy purchase (I suck at RTS and don’t have the patience to get good) but it included story DLC which I hate to miss out on. Fast forward a few months, now we have story DLC but WHOOPS, it’s not covered by the season pass! Sorry! We need twenty more dollars from you! No ETA on the DLC you were promised. Please understand.

We are still getting story missions from the season pass in the form of Operation Spearbreaker, just not the expansion which is literally an entirely new game.
Plus, you got HW DE and more than your money’s worth in DLC leaders.

I really couldn’t care less about anything else in the season pass. I only bought the ultimate edition because I expected there to be a lot of extra story content. I haven’t touched the game since they added new leaders. They hardly impact the game at all. The remastered Halo Wars didn’t interest me either since I already played the first game plenty of times. Haven’t touched it either.

i pretty much agree with this guy
i baught the ultimate edition.cause i expected the typical season pass to include all dlc and fullfill all extra story content. here we are 4 months after patch. we received 4 new leaders and… oh yeah nothing. no maps no gamemodes no ability to spectate tournys, instead we just take the 2 players word. wheres the competitative scene?
4 leaders DOES NOT JUSTIFY THE SEASON PASS LETALONE THE ULTIMATE EDITION PURCHASE

I expected the campaign missions to be included with what I bought instead of them turning it into a separate expansion and then having to cook up some expectedly half–Yoinked!- extra missions to technically fulfill their end of the bargain.
I bought it solely for story DLC. So no, I have yet to get my money’s worth.

It doesn’t matter why you bought it, you bought it for the wrong reason. What matters is it covered the $20 in content and it does. You are just wrong. It never stated anywhere that it would have a full expansion. You got your 20 bucks worth.
It’s 20 freaking bucks. De alone covers that in entertainment value. How much do you pay to go see a movie in Imax? 20 bucks and it lasts 2 hours. 2 hours at a bar costs how much? As stated it’s 20 freaking bucks. You got your content.

I like to think I got my money’s worth for the Season Pass. Considering each leader (other than forge) is 6.99 and we have 3 now with 2 on the way. That’s a little more than $27 separate, but I can also sympathize with the frustration when it does in fact say “Story content” in the description of the Season Pass.
One of the few complaints out of the hundreds I see here that completely makes sense. The expansion should be covered by the season pass easily and idk why they chose not to go that route. I’m pretty sure they gave some bull explanation somewhere but what’s done is done already I guess. I personally don’t mind because I want to support rts games in general on consoles but majority of season pass holders didn’t expect to pay an extra 20 for dlc. Hopefully they make the sp worth it in the coming months.

Yes but we are still getting story content included in the pass. So they didn’t deceive or lie about anything. And people keep forgetting about De. That was no small game to get in there with only $20.

Then you shouldn’t have gotten the Season pass. Its your own fault for not looking up what you would get when you bought it. I knew from the start that I would get at least 7 new leaders and a few extra missions. I was happy with that then and I’m happy with it now. If you only wanted one part of the DLC then you should have wait till that content came out and bought it then. Its not 343s fault that you purchased content you were never going to use. Its also not their fault that you didn’t take the time to look up what you would be getting.

Ah yes, I forgot about that one since I had it with the pre-order. It just seems like its been always free lol
