MP Split Screen Works

So last night my son and I played Halo Infinite online multiplayer on split screen and it worked great. I wasn’t sure this was working yet, and it worked without any issues. Good job 343. This was a feature I missed desperately with my kids and I’m glad its back.

We played several games of tactical slayer, and a few regular slayer matches. We also did some custom games as well. All worked great.

Now the only caveat is that we both have our own xbox gamertag, so we both had to be signed into the Xbox. I don’t know if guest accounts work as they did in previous games or like the MCC.

Guest accounts I believe still work.

Will there be an update when the split screen co-op comes out to also add 4 player split screen for all xbox?

I learned the hard way its only two and I know the previous games I could have 4 players on one system for multiplayer.

I doubt they will get on gearboxe’s level and have 4 player split screen campaign but at lease have it for multiplayer please.

Oh, I didn’t know you could do split screen MP

Yes you can. 2 per xbox standard and 4 per xbox x/s series. At least for now.

That’s good to know!

So, you just sign in 2 accounts, launch the game, and you will have splitscreen? Or does it only kick in when in the modes?

Split screen isn’t close to as relevant as it was back in Halo’s heyday, I would expect 2 player splitscreen at best and it might only be on newer consoles.

There is no prompt to add another controller by pressing start, buy what i usually do is go to custom game sign in player one if not already. Then sign in player two. From here player two can press start or A and it will ask who is player. Select the player two account and both will sign in.

Thanks to the bot playlist and local split screen, I’ve gotten my wife to play more Halo MP in Infinite than I ever did on MCC.

And she’s slowly turning into a fan of the MP !

It works with at least 3, I’ve done it with my 2 sons. I haven’t had the opportunity to try 4. We played custom games with bots, and a few online team death matches. My kids like it but they still prefer the MCC, and my older son says he likes Halo 5 better. We just gave up on 5 because it didn’t have split screen.
