I hope that buying a special edition of the game or preordering it gives us more than something like a couple of skins and the first battle pass free. IMO it should be like fortnite where you pay a big sum but never have to pay again realistically(if you buy STW which is 40$ at full price but goes on sale from time to time, you get vbucks from completing missions, which means you could get every battle pass and get enough vbucks to buy skin without ever buying a single vbuck, which is something i did). In your opinion what would be a good reward for buying the game instead of playing it f2p?
I think there might be timed pre order exclusives for buying the campaign, but I think the campaign will have it’s own special unlocks for multiplayer. That’s the real carrot imo. I like the CoD points / V Buck idea but I don’t see it happening, I’m sure 343i stated no in game currency that you buy with money, so I don’t see the point of it. Also, did they not state season one was free ? Can’t confirm that but I recall seeing something about it.

I do as well, but surely in a free to play game there has to be some sort of paid cosmetics or tier passes.
Some random thoughts…
I don’t want them to try and sell me campaign by adding multiplayer trinkets. Sell me the campaign on the strength of the campaign!
MS probably aren’t that interested in trying to sell physical copies. They want you to download. They want you to subscribe to game-pass. They are definitely not going to go out of their way to make the stand alone versions more attractive.
And yep. The first battle pass is free anyway.

iirc they said there would never be a way to advance in the battle passes by spending money, it will all be with progress and challenges. though im pretty sure a cosmetic store is a given by now.

I don’t think they would be selling the campaign on multiplayer stuff, it’s more of a reward for either spending 60 dollars or just for playing the campaign or completing challenges. more of an extra than a reason.
tbh this is the first time I’m interested in buying a special edition so I hope they release one for PC lmao, if not I’d be glad with a digital legendary edition or something tbh. I’ve been waiting since 2012 to play a new halo game (without counting HW2) so to say I’m excited is an understatement. I do have game pass tho, but owning the game sounds nice and steam is way more user friendly than the xbox app or ms store.

That’s what I mean. I want them to make the whole thing worth the $60 for the campaign. Not have to upsell it with MP extras.
Like, here’s the Campaign. Sorry it’s a bit light on… but we have to sell it at full price… so here is a bunch of coatings for MP.

I can feel you! It’s exciting… even for console players who have been waiting for over 5 years as well.
I’ve bought a couple of limited editions… and even they need to add stuff on the campaign. I’d much rather have statues, figures, booklets, posters, stickers, badges… all campaign related. I love my Halo Reach display.
Sell it on the strengths of the story.

Yep. They made it quite clear you buy the Battle Pass and then choose how to progress. You can swap in/out of Battle Passes as you feel fit.
They then mentioned that they won’t confuse it by making the battle pass stuff available by other means. Specifically they mentioned you “can’t circumvent that by purchasing something out of the storefront”.
Store confirmed.
I’ve bought ever single legendary or special edition of halo, so i definitely expect there to be one or two special edition.
With statues/helmets of somesort aswell as special limited edition dlc like armours, effects, AI etc. Also preorder bonuses but i can imagine they would be included with gamepass.
If they dont i will be disappointed entirely.
I absolutely expect that there will be benefits in MP for owning single player. We already know we can do challenges in SP to unlock MP items, and it would surprise me if that was the only connection between the two.
Ideally we would get a set of basic color armor coatings at the very least for buying or playing SP.
