Unlocking Battleapass items and and such has it’s own progression system apart from regular match earned XP.
Has it been said if there will still be just a way to earn ranks/levels with XP earned from winning and playing matches? I’m not talking about challenges, tiers, items etc. literally just advancing from one rank to the next from earning XP.
I’m very casual when it comes to multiplayer and hopping on and playing for half an hour to see that I progressed to the next rank is a simple joy.
yes and no.
The system that will function as xp is only through challenges. There are daily and weekly challenges
Daily challenged are split into 3 tiers
- tier 1 - complete x amount of matches - rewars x amount of xp
- tier 2 - complete x amount of matches (more then prior) - rewards x amount of xp (more than tier 1)
- tier 3 - win x amount of matches - rewards x amount of xp (more than tier 2)
You will naturally go through these as you play during the day and they reset the next day. 343 stated it should take roughly 16-18 hrs of play to get through them all in one day. If you play casually, you will be staying around tier 1 and 2 which means you will get xp per match to every couple matches
They won’t have a traditional progression system in the game at launch, but it’s also been stated a few times that it hasn’t been ruled out either. They’re looking into it, for all we’ve been told. (Not to mention that we’ll have 16-18 hours worth of simple daily challenges to fill the gap, every single day.)
No, for whatever reason the geniuses at 343 thought weekly challenges that lead to an “Ultimate Challenge” which gives you an excusive weekly emblem would be better than per-match XP, because 343 cares more about FOMO than keeping people focused on the in-game objectives rather than their own challenges.
