Just the words halo infinite in the Google search bar and it shows at the top a timer for me. I’m in California if it matters. If you type in anything beyond just those 2 words it may not appear. It showed up for friends in other states as well.
Yep, it’d be a huge curveball. Sure, the campaign would launch on December 8th, but launching MP on November 15th would feel like a bit of a slap in the face to the folks who asked for time off in December.
I remember the lead of Final Fantasy 14, Yoshi P, was on video apologizing profusely for the fact that the Endwalker expansion got delayed to next month (a day before Infinite’s release, actually), because he knew that tons of people requested time off and prolly wouldn’t be able to change it to the new release date.
Also, one of my worries is that data could get mined from the multiplayer, like it was in the initial flight, that could give spoilers for the campaign that are all out and about once again.

BF launched in typical BF launch form from what I hear, so it’s a little borked.
CoD has had the most luke warm reception I’ve seen in a while.
Infinite MP was generally playing great in the previews. It seems polished, and like it has complete content at least from an unlockables point of view.
I’m usually pretty skeptical on rumors like this… but I’m finding it hard to come up with reasons 343 shouldn’t launch MP early…

If asking in Waypoint was how to get confirmation, then you’d have the entire gaming news industry clogging up the subforum.
Although given the quality of Kotaku and others they might actually be aggregating the forums

I’m highly optimistic it is happening despite the naysayers, but I still have a lot of BOTW to finish so either way I’m staying busy.

I’d say yes. Given all the hints that we’ve had lately. Firstly it’s the Anniversary for Halo CE, plus what we’ve heard about the Early Access bundle on the Microsoft Store for Halo Infinite, now leakers are coming out and saying Early Access MP will be live and available after 10:00am PT. There’s a solid chance. MP looks close to finished now with just a little polishing needed. Early Access isn’t impossible.
If this is true, would i need to have game pass to play this?
Let me explain something if so…
I have played halo for the full 20 years, every game since the original xbox.
It is the only game I play - I don’t play any other games at all.
I have xbox live gold - not game pass because I don’t need it, as mentioned I only play Halo…
I have pre ordered the disc version for delivery in December.
So, all this loyalty is wiped out because I need a (more expensive) subscription to play other games, instead of being so loyal?
Or would this free to play version be available for XBL gold accounts?

@Bruce6571 why on earth would you expect halo mp to be tied to gp if its free to play?
If its a bonus to play early for gamepass subscribers I guess that might make sense. Its an xbox event not a halo event but still seems unlikely.
I doubt its happening at all tbh. December 8th is the likely date.
It’s either a flight or a pay to play early deal.
So you might have to wait till Dec 12th to actually play

If I was 343 I would release a prequel type short/demo on Monday - it would be great marketing … but let’s face it they ain’t that good 
MP is free to play, no gamepads required. Go into the xbox store, download the digital install, wait till Monday, profit.
Worst case is you have to switch to your preferred physical media disk instead if the digital version on Dec 8th when your disk arrives

I dont think you understand just what that would require of a team trying to go gold for launch day to be honest.
They are pretty damn good being so straight with the community and tempering the expectations instead of launching a broken title imo.
