Movement whith turrets

When we play as odst in halo 3 odst I ripped of a turret and felt like I was moving regular as an odst so we can play as an odst whith turrets. Here’s my main topic so I get out a turret in halo 5 warzone and can’t sprint and odst can move normally and a super soldier can’t sprint.

Probably due to game balance. In ODST there was no PvP, only PvE, so turret movement wasn’t crucial. Halo 5 is very well balanced for PvP, and most likely was the reason on why players move slowly with them.

Use Jorge’s Chaingun for better mobility ;D

I agree the game is very well polished in terms of PVP but god dang the barbed lance (ultra rare light rifle) and the dying star (legend/mythic light rifle) are suuuuuper OP, Barbed lance takes like 2 seconds to perfect kill someone (probably less)

Well,Barbed Lance and Dying star are Ultra rare/Legendary,so you dont encounter them so often.

What? I’ve used like 30 in the past couple weeks and still have alot more.

This is about during an average match and doesnt include expections like you.
How many Barbed lances and Dying Stars have you seen used by other players?

Its getting fairly popular seeing as how good it is actually.

The Speed Booster armor mod is a must when using a turret. The extra speed is a life-saver.

I’m pretty sure ODSTs didn’t have a few extra tons to carry on their body.

Yep, true.

I also doubt that ODST’s could flip a warthog with their own two hands like a Spartan. There’s some give-and-take in game mechanics for fun factor and/or balance. Also, Gen II Mjolnir is around a couple hundred kilograms (<500 pounds) and even Gen 1 only weighed about 700-750 pounds (since a 250-ish pound Spartan in it weighs about half a ton). Mjolnir armor also amplifies the Spartan strength too instead of simply weighing them down.

Also, a more on-topic response, I think that of course turrets should slow down the carrier and not allow most abilities, I think it might be neat to allow the thruster pack while carrying a turret. Would allow for bursts of movement and dodging while still reducing mobility overall.

But ODST had no multiplayer component to balance. If you really want to get realistic, your ODST shouldn’t be able to eat nearly as many spikes, needles, and plasma bolts as they do in gameplay, because as you say they aren’t a super-soldier. Again, there was no PvP balance to worry about, its a video game, its still made to be entertaining.

I always questioned how ODSTs could run faster with a turret than Spartans. Screw balance reasons, I want canonical ones!

Spartans should be a little quicker with turrets for sure.

1 second actually

  • I do not like using turrets, because when you use it you walk so slow, and you can get easily killed. - But It does a lot of damage

The Spartans don’t even feel like their holding it because, their not. They just have to think about doing it and their suit’s neuro-receptor will do the rest for them. Also, Spartans are no more than 1 ton.

If you want faster movement with turrets, you’re going to need an armor mod that increases movement with turrets which 343 has yet to implement. I talked about it here.

Hey Ske7ch help us out here.
