The movement speed is faster than it was back in Halo 2. The fact that nobody talks about how this ruins the gameplay for casual fun loving gamers who aren’t trying to have sweaty matches every single game is ridiculous. The speed kills any chance at stealth, makes every map noticeably smaller based on the time it takes to get to the other side, and it renders sprint completely useless. Sprint in Halo Infinite is about as useful as having an air scented candle. Sprint in halo infinite gives you such a speed boost that your movement speed stays exactly the same, “but you get these cool speed lines across the screen when you sprint” bruh… Why did they make the base speed faster than every other halo game? bring it back to Halo 3, Halo Reach, Halo 4, or Halo 5 levels of player base speed. Players zipping back and fourth across the map may be fun for the MLG GAMER PRO DORITOS player, but for the Halo fans its not going to work. Halo Reach is the art-style 343 is using because it was the best game, so why not make the gameplay fun like it was in Halo Reach?

I think the reason for the high movement speed is so that they wouldn’t make sprint powerful to help satisfy reasonable people who hate sprint, and Halo 5 kids who like it for some reason. While also not having Halo 5 and CoD kids complaining about Infinite being slow… When Halo in its prime was the slowest FPS and was loved for it, but 343i’s style is to completely ignore: “If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.”. Personally H2 when the lobby isn’t sweaty beyond belief, is my favorite mp so I like the moderately faster movement, but Infinite’s is certainly a bit much, but I’ll take it over having to rely on sprint like in H4/H5
You should know Reach is not the best Halo. It had the best armor customizations, but this game single handedly ruined the Halo franchise. The bloom mechanic on the DMR was in place at launch and existed so long the competitive scene and all Halo tournaments ended. And don’t forgot the horrible abilities like armor lock. Any player who enjoyed the skill part of halo quit the game. What people ended up loving was the fact that the only thing remained was a casual community. There were no try hards as they all quit the game and so you enjoyed a casual no skill FPS Halo. That is why people look back on Halo Reach so fondly, it was peak casual Halo.

Most of the people who play FPS Shooters absolutely hate how slow classic is now. The TTK currently still bothers people. They had to make a trade off and I feel like they pretty much found the middle ground.

this is true, i went back to halo 3 durring the reach era, and many players left the franchise forever. sprint has been in the game ever since and ruined the entire chess match br dance that made the classic game so addicting and great
It feels like classic Halo with a modern spin on it. I feel like they nailed it. For reference, I was a sweaty custom/lan kid back in halo 2/halo 3/reach days.

Fun-fact: Halo CE, Halo 2 and Halo 3 share the exact same movement speed value of 2.25, reach lowered it to 2.2.
Only that Reach introduced Sprint through AA’s, and then Halo 4 with general sprint, and Reach BMS if I’m not mistaken.
Halo 5 increased its BMS after its beta, and had the fastest BMS of all Halos.
