Movement Mechanics

Playing the MCC mostly Halo Reach and H2A it makes me think that less overall movement such as movement mechanics in Reach, Halo CE, Halo 2, and Halo 3 is better. The slowish and methodically pace of the multiplayer for Halo Reach and H2A is just better because there’s less going on which makes multiplayer less hectic. I feel like playing with fewer movement mechanics makes the game more skill-based instead of luck. Sprint would be nice don’t get me wrong or even a little bit of increased movement speed but I don’t want the ground pound and dash. I only think that 343 introduced these mechanics was due to games at the time were introducing wall-running, dash, vertical movements such as jet packs etc. What are your thoughts one the movement mechanics of early Halo games compared to the newer ones?

Though I do prefer the classic movement mechanics, I appreciate Halo 5’s take on movement, I think smart link was long overdue for the series and sprinting feels like a good balance between risk/reward.

For Halo Experience i Prefer the Halo 2 Anniversary Mecchanics

Halo 4 ’ s (or reach’s) without abilities except truster and a short-sprint. That’ s my idea.

There are alrady a few threads in infinite on this and the sprint thread linked below.
