I thought of a way of a franchise of movies done. I think this would be the best route to go. I would want Microsoft to create a partnership with Disney!!! Not Microsoft giving the rights to Disney, but rather them keeping the rights (and final say) but Disney distributing it and financially backing them. Disney is the biggest movie studio right now, and they’re making bank like no other studio. Here’s how it should go down. Microsoft and 343 should make adaptations of the novels and games faithfully. Disney would also be financially behind it, as well as Microsoft putting money into it. Disney is known to back off as to let the filmmakers make the movie they want. I would have the movies be completely CG, and done by Blur and Axis!
They would have 3-3½ years to work on each movie. Each movie would then be released within 2-2½ years of each other. Like Blur works on The Fall of Reach while Axis works on Contact Harvest. Each movie would be around 3-3½ as a whole, and R rated. However, the theatrical cut would be around 2½ hours long and be PG-13. On Blu-Ray and Digital Download, you can have 2 ways to buy: the PG-13 theatrical cut, or the R 3-3½ hour Legendary Edition. While these companies will be doing the work, there could be another company helping them out, ILM!! Disney just last year had The Jungle Book, a complete CG movie (the exception being Mowgli) which made $966.6 million. Something Disney is genius at is marketing! They have you know a movie is coming they know how to get you pumped. Disney would get a good chunk of the box office, as they are helping Microsoft and 343 out and putting money into it. I think this would be a great route to go, and I think Microsoft and Disney would be very smart if they did this. Of course, they would have to agree on who gets what cut of the box office, so both parties are satisfied. With Spider-Man: Homecoming, I’m confident Disney’s made a great partnership with Sony.
This would be the coolest idea ever. You make everyone excited: the hardcore fans, the casual fans, and the general audience. Would be so amazing to see these stories finally on the big-screen!

FUTURE
You wouldn’t be able to adapt the entire stories of each one into a movie(at least not properly) and you would lose much context, plot points etc in the process. Not to mention it would probably be excessively expensive to create and Disney are not gonna take a risk on Halo. In the end it wouldn’t be worth it.

That’s why I said you make the movie 3-3½ hours each. The theatrical cut would be 2½ hours long and have the whole version on Blu-Ray. I said it would be Microsoft AND Disney financing. 2 mega corporations working together, that’d be more than enough

This is why a TV series would be perfect, like the one steven Spielberg was meant to create.

You know deep down you want to see the movies happen. Search your feelings, you know it to be true.

I did until after realizing how bad the cut script was for the cancelled halo film ages ago. Book adaption might be good until I realized halo the fall of reach animated series had a lack of context. I rather see a big budget series. If Disney were to do a adaption of a book, they’ll have to make it good. Seeing Disney manage to pull off a successful star wars film, I don’t see why they’ll have too much trouble. The problem is that they’ll make it T(or PG 13+) rating, which would kind of ruin it since halo has also been dark and violent especially in the books.

What I’m saying is, it’s not just Disney. It’s Microsoft and Disney working together. Microsoft wouldn’t hand the rights over to Disney, but rather create a partnership. As for the movies, I’d say follow the novels and 100% the same it CAN be done). I said you make the movie 3+ hours long and rated R. However, for the theatrical cut, you edit it down to 2½ hours and PG-13. For Blu-Ray, there’d be the theatrical PG-13 cut and the whole movie in the R rated Legendary Edition.

I know you’re taking inspiration from Batman V Superman. Making an extended cut for blur ray and theatrical cut for the cinema isn’t a good idea. Fans didn’t like the idea. Blur ray and DVD’s don’t make too much profit compared to the cinema. People are going to judge halo from mostly it’s theatrical cut, so it won’t be good for reviews. Sorry but I disagree with your idea. Also adding 1+ hour for the extended blur cut is a lot of money.

I would have be more like the Extended Edition of The Lord of the Rings. You edit it down for theaters in a version that’s cohesive, comprehensive and very good. You keep all the important plot stuff in and character stuff in there. The Legendary Edition would be for people who want more. If you don’t want to, you can buy the standard edition, which is awesome and complete. The Legendary Edition is for people who want some extra stuff.

Cutting it down is a lack of content, like what happened to Batman V Superman which made fans upset and confused. People won’t get the story. Especially doing an adaption of a novel since each novel even most fan favorite has a lot of content. They’re going to have to do something similar like the hunger games or maze runner. They could alternatively start a new story not an adaption.

What I’m saying is that in the theatrical cut, there’s the content. WB failed with BvS because the way they edited the movie for theaters. For the theatrical cut you have it cohesive and complete in theaters. For home release, you have both versions. This could be done. Microsoft and Disney (2 mega billion dollar corporations) working together could make it happen.
