As much as I appreciate the need to accustom to players who refuse to move on from their lovelife with Halo 2, it’s beginning to really bug me when I’m playing in INFINITY slayer and keep getting Slayer Pro games. Same story with the BTB playlist.
Does anyone else agree that it would be much better to put Slayer Pro as a seperate playlist? Name it Nostalgia and then switch it around with Big Team Nostalgia every week. Because I’m fed up of being forced to use frag grenades when I spawn…
When it had its own olaylist it wasnt very popular so they mived it. Moving it back would accomplish nothing.
It is clear 343i aren’t scared of putting multiple Slayer gametypes into the Infinity Slayer playlist, so why not rename it to Team Slayer and problem solved?
When your game can hardly hit 30k players at peak time and you have THREE different Slayer playlists (if you put a Slayer Pro one out), then you’re doing it wrong.
Prior Halo games had multiple gametype playlists, why can’t Halo 4?
That’s great feedback but the solution you presented is not feasible at this point of the game’s life span (overall, outside of supporting DLC, we aren’t looking to add new permanent playlists at this time). With that in mind, where do you feel this game type fits best?

Slayer Pro, Legendary Slayer and Infinity Slayer all belong in one playlist. Merge Legendary with Infinity Slayer, then rename it to Team Slayer.
With Legendary Slayer getting similar numbers to Throwdown, it isn’t worth keeping it as its own.
It confused me a little when it was announced Slayer Pro was being added to the IS playlist but it wasn’t being renamed.

“This point in the games life span”
Jesus…

I reckon you could move Slayer Pro to Legendary Slayer, rename it Legendary Pro and make the appropriate adjustments. Make it DMR starts so it is at least somewhat different from Team Throwdown. You could do this at the same time you add Legendary BRs if you decide to do that.

The problem with merging TS & LS is that Legendary uses such vastly different weapon layouts compared to default Halo 4. It would bring confusion and inconsistency to the playlist.
Think about the players who aren’t as in the know as us.

Still doesn’t excuse the issue of a blatant failed playlist (Legendary Slayer) and it should either be merged or removed entirely. They’ve mentioned that they are looking into wanting to consolidate the playlists for Halo 4, removing/merging Legendary with IS and renaming it to Team Slayer is an excellent start.
I get it will confuse players completely, but hey, that just adds to the skill I guess, remembering where everything spawns.
I say move slayer pro with LS , change it so it has weapons on the ground like LS , maybe(not) a motion sensor, and maybe(not) remove magnums to encourage weapon pick up. Since LS might get BR/AR starts , I think it would be a good alternative to those who don’t want to use AR and BR/AR starts.
Im not a fan of slayer pro because iv become accustom to infinity slayer now so slayer pro is just to different and boring, plus its not even the same settings as the pros use which makes it pointless. So seeing as it has failed in popularity and had to be blended with infinity slayer surely this would mean changing its settings to appeal to infinity slayer players, who previously before the blend chose actively not to play slayer pro. It doesn’t need major changes but at least give it some AA’s or radar or some options on tactical and supply packages. It needs to not be so dry, this may sound like a terrible idea to avid slayer pro player but they need to appeal more to infinity slayer players in an infinity playlist.
My biggest gripe with Big Team Slayer Pro is the Armor Mods; everyone gets Resupply and Explosives, but I prefer to use Wheelman and Gunner when it comes to vehicle-heavy maps; even without Plasma Pistol or Plasma Grenade starts, it still seems like vehicles get blown up just as easily if I don’t have those Armor Mods equipped.

you hear that, BS Angel? Its the sounds of " Halo 4 is Dead" threads rising from their grave…
This is the problem with Halo 4. Instead of having a spectrum defined by core features that flow through all gamemodes, we have completely fragmented matchmaking offering that neither exists on a spectrum or has a defined core.
a better way using the fragments that Halo has become:
Each non-thowdown playlist should feature two gametypes that form a spectrum between all three playlists:
Infinity Slayer:
- Infinity Slayer as it currently exists.
- Infinity Arena (or something?), loadouts (with weapon spawns matching IS and motion tracker enabled and PO as just grenades or perhaps the other AA):
- DMR / AR / 2xFrag / Thruster Pack / Resupply / Explosives
- LR / Suppressor / 1xPulse / Hardlight Shield / Resupply / Explosives
- Carbine / SR / 2xPlasma / Hologram / Resupply / Explosives
legendary should be changed to Team Slayer (disable sprint please):
- Team Slayer, loadouts (with weapon spawns matching Throwdown and motion tracker enabled and PO matching Throwdown):
- DMR / AR / 2xFrag / Resupply / Explosives
- LR / Suppressor / 1xPulse / Resupply / Explosives
- Carbine / SR / 2xPlasma / Resupply / Explosives
- Team BRs (all setting match Throwdown exept for an AR secondary and an enabled motion tracker)
Throwdown is throwdown (disable sprint please).
something like that. You need to start treating Halo 4 as a single game when it comes to the mainline slayer and objective playlists is my main point. Maybe my suggestion isn’t great but I think it’s better than your current offering, and with sprint disabled Team BRs in Team Slayer would mimic Halo 3 team slayer pretty well for classic fans. I also don’t think they would mind the loadouts that much as it would still be a core halo arena experience more or less. Just my two cents.
p.s. as for big team, just merge the two Playlists into one, call it BTB and be done with it.

Yeah, thanks for that.
Still think you’re overreacting.

Can you not just move Slayer Pro into the Throwdown Playlist?
It makes sense, the casual players can stick to Infinity and the Competitive can go to Throwdown?
I think the main problem is that Infinity Slayer and Slayer Pro differ from each other so much, due to that fact that the core gameplay in Infinity Slayer is based around the use of Personal load-outs and Ordinance drops, which is dropped entirely for Slayer Pro.
On the other hand, I haven’t actually tried Legendary Slayer, as I assumed it would be much the same as Slayer Pro, but I think I’ll go check it out later today.
EDIT: And don’t get me wrong, I’m willing to adjust my play-style to accustom to multiple slayer types, but for the time being it’s screwing me. xD

Yes, loud and clear.
Slayer pro is actually playable now. It should not be comepared to the slayer pro at launch.
I like having the option to vote slayer pro in infinity slayer. I say keep it just where it is and add legendary slayer with BR’s. Then have each type come up for a vote and have players decide.

Unfortunately it’s not that simple. Slayer Pro is a popular voting option in IS because, believe it or not, it is popular among casual players. True hardcore competitive players want to play nothing but the true competitve Throwdown setting, so slayer pro in their playlist would just aggravate them.
I agree slayer pro is different enough than IS that they should probably not exist in the same playlist. with the addition of Legendary 343 had the chance to gove Halo 4 a true Team Slayer playlist where something like Slayer Pro would be more fitting, but I don’t think that opertunity has been seized quite yet.
Ultimately I think a more arena based, but more casual voting option with radar and AA should replace Slayer Pro in IS, and LS should take on the fans of Slayer Pro, with the addition of Team BRs.
This solution isn’t perfect, but it begins to build the mainline slayer playlists into a consistent spectrum, so that players are not thrown off by completely different settings in the same playlist, yet the is an understandable gradual change between playlists.
