Don’t get me wrong - I love Rocket Race.

I hate Rocket Hog Race. It destroys everything that was fun about the original.

  • Mongooses are better at stunts than Warthogs.
  • Mongooses have a lower center of gravity than Warthogs.
  • Mongooses don’t force the player out as often (they only generally land on two sides, top or bottom, whereas the hog can be flipped onto six sides, five of which kick the player out)
  • Every team member has a proper job, driver or rocketeer. In hog, one player gets assigned to the passenger seat, which is basically a ripoff, and another to the gunner, which… well it’s also a ripoff. Even the driver seat is a rip off. The driver gets flipped a thousand times, the gunner isn’t in full control of his ordinance, and the passenger can only view 180 degrees and fire EMP grenades. It’s not comfortable to be in any of those team positions.
  • Normal Rocket Race can be played on more maps than RHR due to the versatility and decreased size of the Mongoose.
  • Overall, RHR is a perversion of the original idea of Rocket Race and doesn’t provide the same experience.

Move Rocket Race to Action Sack - the good version of it, and get rid of Rocket Hog Race. If that can’t be done, then at least stop making it so that RHR appears for vote every single match.

No action sack already has enough bad gametypes such as hockey and dino blasters nice to a new playlist with race modes in it.

The point of Action Sack is community and otherwise arcade-style gametypes and maps, and Rocket Race fits in with that. Just because the playlist is wrought with high ranks trying to farm kills and play Power Slayer doesn’t mean that’s the goal of the playlist.

I know its not ment for k/d padding and its ment for fun, but dino blaster, hockey, and haloball leave a bad taste in my mouth.

I think that random, miscellanious, and fast-paced are all the requirements of a good Action Sack gametype. Rocket Hog race would certainly fit into that, but the current games in Action Sack that aren’t that are Hockey, shotty snipers, power slayer and shotgun assault. These gametypes need to move somewhere else, they aren’t bad they just don’t belong in Action Sack. They need to be replaced with more fitting alternatives such as Team Fiesta, Team Sumo, Dodgeball, Run For Cover, Speed, and Crash-Up-Derby. If there is someway to combine multi-team, two teams, and FFA all in a single playlist 343 should definitely do it for Action Sack. Action Sack is generally not meant to be competitive so it could allow for parties, single people, etc.
