I like to compete. Ranked multiplayer is for competition. Mouse and keyboard players have advantage over all other players.
Now its not competition anymore, its just amusement for mouse and keyboard players. This makes me sad, and I stop enjoying the competition.
Vote!
(Would you call a race between a car that goes 60km/h and a car that goes 100km/h a competition? I wouldn’t)
Edit 1: If you don’t believe that it doesn’t give you an advantage, please take a look at this video:
XIM4 - Halo 5 Warzone Gameplay short and sweet - YouTube
Would you be able to make such fine aim adjustments with a sensitivity of 10 on a controller? If you claim its not an advantage, I’m not sure what could be considered an advantage.
I don’t understand what this thread is for, you already can’t use a kb+m? if your asking if it should be added then hell no that would make no sense.
Who the heck is this kid. It’s Xbox one.
Of course you can. XIM4 Mouse and Keyboard.
mouse and keyboard are now compatible with xbox one. I for one can’t play games with a mouse and keyboard. elite controller forever

compatible. but you can’t use it to play.
I’m awful at playing fps with a mouse and keyboard, I feel like I have more control with a controller.

I think OP is talking about a 3rd party adapted that makes the console think its running a xbx one controller via emulation when in reality its using a mouse and keyboard bypassing any sort of restriction the Xbox may have on gameplay with M+KB
I couldn’t care less lol. The xim still acts as a controller so they can’t turn faster than a controllers input.
Basically it’s not the advantage/excuse you were looking for

This, I have one but it’s not the same as playing with a mouse and keyboard on a PC. Sometimes it’s more detrimental, moving the mouse too fast causes my turning to slow down.

Oh. I say let them. I play with a controller on PC, and I destroy them. The only advantage I see is if they have macros.

I have never used the Xim but surely what attributes to controller stick sensitivity is based of an input variable that is based on thumbstick positioning adding more to the axis variable the more you move it from the central point, if you use a controller to control a mouse the mouse has a limited max speed but can still be controlled to move faster of slower depending on the amount the stick is moved. I would say this device would still offer more control but I think the speed limit would depend on the game, lets say when you put the thumbstick out to it’s max position the variable is at 10 but then since the mouse can move more distance in a shorter stroke depending on mouse DPI, I would assume that it could go past the limited 10 that he xbox could, is the xbox one mouse use on the dashboard limited to a slow speed? if not then unless the game is hard coded to limit max rotation then the mouse should still work faster than the controller.
either way if your good with a mouse you will still have more control regardless of limited speed.
I dont think there would be anyway to ban mouse and keyboard even if they tried since most adapters just emulate an xbox controller via xinput emulation. To add on though, I really think it would be cool to have native mouse and keyboard support for Halo 5 though, and if the competitiveness is a issue for you they can make playlists specifically for the input device people are using maybe.
Revolution FX. Yes, that would be a better option. Make a separate playlist for mouse and keyboard. And have an official mouse and keyboard that works better than the XIM4. This would add the benefit of being able to register who is using mouse and keyboard, and since it works better than XIM4 emulation, people would probably not bother using the XIM4 anymore.
Only problem is that I don’t think there will be enough players to justify mouse and keyboard playlists.
I play pc primarily, pretty much only got my xbox to play the mcc, halo 5, and the gears games. I honestly prefer halo stay controller only, I have enough games to play with my m+kb. Using a controller is a different skill set and I enjoy the switch.
I started playing fps on kb+m and the first xbox live game I played was halo 3. I’ve always used a controller for consoles. Personally I don’t think kb+m is cheating at all. Think of it like this, you prefer to eat your food with a spoon and fork but someone else prefers to use chop sticks. Now chop sticks seem like a disadvantage, but the point is that they prefer to use chopsticks because they grew up using it and they’re accustomed to it. A pro halo player can still destroy a kb+m player. Using kb+m doesn’t make you unkillable.
I also play with keyboard and mouse on my computer a lot. And I can its not comparable to a !preference! choice like using either spoon or fork. If one of the choice gives you a clear advantage over other players in a competitive environment, then its comparable to cheating. Of course a good controller player can beat mouse and keyboard player, that doesn’t have anything to do about it.
Say I 1v1 with a player, we both use controller and it ends up 12-15. Then we play 1v1 again, this time the other player uses mouse and keyboard and the result ends up 7-15 for the mouse player. You cannot call that a preference choice, that is more like giving a handicapped player an advantage by doubling his life or something.
Edit 1: by looking at the poll right now it seems to be many mouse and keyboard players, or just people who don’t care about being unfairly killed ingame
The heavy aim assist probably negates most of the advantage.
Baloney. First youtube video I looked up: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xLdxDYsLelg
Are you able to make such fine aim adjustments with a sensitivity of 10 like the player in that video?
I mean, when I see a clip like that, I don’t even want to boot up Halo anymore. Id rather just play on my computer.
xbox should just come out with an update that allows keyboard and mouse without the 3rd party retailers. would stop the complaining since anyone could do it at that point.
