Motion Tracker Woes

Is it me or is the Motion Tracker in Halo 5 near useless and even sometimes detrimental to play? Rarely does it pick up anyone moving in my vicinity until they are literally on top of me and at other times when by some miracle it does pick up motion within its small range, I can’t tell whether my enemy is above or below. I remember Halo 4’s tracker being near-perfect so I don’t understand the change they made to basically nullify its use. At this point I ignore it’s even in the corner of my screen but it detracts from the feeling that I’m still playing Halo and it’s kind of sad. Thoughts?

My guess is that this is a feature which was heavily influenced by the pro players who had so much input on the game. Remember: MLG game types don’t even use a motion tracker. For whatever reason, I think they’re trying to get people to rely on it less. I’d be having a hard time adjusting to it myself if I still played 4v4 anymore. Warzone still has a 25m range and that’s just how I like it: big maps, lots of players, plenty of time to see 'em coming.

Yea, it’s better in Warzone although still wonky. I’ve just always been a fan of the core Arena experience though and it’s nice to have that again after Halo 4 but the change to the Motion Tracker for me is unwelcome, it’s always been helpful both in social and ranked for the simple fact of avoiding being outnumbered or spotting someone setting up to camp. Being able to even spot the enemy team moving as a pack alone would encourage others to do the same to avoid certain death, increasing teamwork overall. I feel even more people play lone wolf now than ever and I’ve been apart of far too many matches where just situational awareness would could have made or broken a team.

I think they did it like it is because all the pro players will look at the radar all the time and people who just started playing almost never look at the radar so they wanted to find an in between area to influence faster games and even the odds in a way. I for one would like the normal radar back.
