Most Underrated REQ Weapons

I think the Rain of Oblivion carbine and Fury storm rifle are very underrated. So are temple ghosts and SAWs. REQS seemed to be overlooked because the are more flashy ones, such as the Answer, Nornfang, and Whiplash. Tell me which REQs you think are underrated in the comments!

I always answer Blood of Suban when this question is asked.

For only 4 req points you can get a req that…
-Murders every boss except the warden and grunt mech really well.
-Has a great ttk against other Spartans. Essentially you get a perfect kill ttk without having to hit the final headshot.
-Lays waste to any vehicle that isn’t a tank. And even then if you’re battling a vanilla scorpion, wraith, or mantis this gun will tip the scale in your teams favor pretty quick. The super combine can even kill the occupants of warthogs and ghosts and leave the vehicle intact for your team to steal.
-If you have 9 req points to spend, the Blood of Suban + Damage Boost will do significant damage to any boss, and any of the level 7 req vehicles.

This thing is such a bargain, and can really dominate the 4-5 level mid point in any warzone game.

Any automatic that isn’t The Answer.

The Sentinel Beam is very nasty for a Level 3 REQ. While its TTK leaves much to be desired, it has great accuracy, melts through energy shielding, and can tear apart vehicles (especially the Wasp and Phaeton) from a relatively safe distance.

The standard teir 1 storm rifle is hevily underrated early game. It provides very good slaying lover at close quarters and is better than an smg at 3 req levels before being attainable and in arena the higher level players now how strong this weapon is so as an early game weapon you can grab it off a station When your charging the middle base

The Spanker EM and the hydra launcher variantsare really good alternatives as anti air weapons besides using a laser and are sometimes better as you can fire it without always exposing your position easily as Well as being good against Spartans

Scout warthogs are good early game for pulling flanks and rushing enemy bases quickly at a low req cost, as well they can be a good alternative to killing small bosses without spending to many req points and

The cog sight weapon attachment highlights an enemy in your crosshairs, displays the weakpoint in ai bosses, and shows the shielding and health for enemy

Razors Edge is a very good weapon to kill knights with on digger fight and in warzone with specific ai knight bosses and can kill ghosts effectively

The plasma caster is a weapon I spam in firefight as the charged only can track, lock on to enemy’s and due to splash damage its a good option to kill large bosses surrounded by his allies

Fury, SAW and Appetite For Destruction.

I’ve been murdering like crazy with tier 4 and 5 SAW  !

I agree. Blood of Suban is probably one of my favorite REQs. You can get about 20 kills out of that thing’s ammo, and its easy to use.

I feel like the Sentinel Beam is a very situational weapon. It fits more into a support role because it doesn’t do very much damage, but it has a long range. Usually, when I use the Setinel Beam, I end up getting a bunch of assists and not too many kills. Generally, I don’t do very well with it and stick to other Level 3 REQs that I can do well with, althogh I remeber one CTF BTB game where I sat back, melting people guarding their Flag.
If you can do well with it, good for you. Also, I noticed that you are very active on the forums, so another good for you.
Cheers.

Does the Appetite for Destruction add anything other than stabilization jets and extra mag? Just wondering. I’m getting hungry…

Please tell me someone got that.

The SPNKR EM is one of my favorite weapons to take down enemy vehicles, especially since Banshees can’t dodge them, but Hydras, excluding the Echidna, are best used for base defense, picking off enemies rushing you IMO. Razor’s Edge is a very good weapon to bring out early game, but is outclassed in gunfights slightly by the Hailstorm. Scout Warthogs and Ghosts are great for quick boss kills on Soldiers and Elites.
Do plasma casters, when charged, track enemy spartans as well?

Those additions do make a difference. The larger capacity drum has saved me in 3 on 1 scenarios that’s for sure!

I once dominated a ffa with a fury.

Id also say standard plasma pistols, cause a charged shot has had me steal and destroy many vehicles.

The boltshots and brute plasma rifles are awesome and very underrated.

The open hand, and spitfire.
also the voids tear is really good for blocking entrances to bases etc.

ooh almost forgot, the SPNKR EX. You can miss by a mile and still get the kill.

Sorrow of Teash can single-handed take out the grunt mech in warzone firefight.
I saw Unyshek using it on stream and while you still have to be careful about his attacks, this thing melts his visor while he’s still very high in total health, revealing an easy headshot kill.

Scales of soirapt and the corpse maker. The corpse maker is an all time favorite, it is a million times better than the grinder which is an okay weapon at best. And the scales of soirapt feels like a covenant saw with a bayonet which is awesome!

How is the Corpsemaker superior to the Grinder? In my experience, the Grinder is better because is has a very wide AoE and can clear rooms very quicky. The Corpsemaker, while a good weapon, only has slightly further lunge distance than the normal gravity hammer. The Grinder actually can kill from a further distance than the Corpsemaker, due to the AoE. Please elaborate.

No the corpsemaker can lunge a pretty big distance also it smashes much faster than the grinder. And that is ultimately what makes it better in my opinion. I can’t count how many times I’ve gotten killing sprees with the corpsemaker, while i don’t think I’ve ever gotten one with the grinder. I just prefer the corpsemaker.
