Something I’ve been pondering since completing the campaign multiple times …
Why doesn’t Cortana once converse with the Didact and tell the Didact that Humanity has beaten the flood , which I’m sure from all the knowledge of the Forerunners , and given her ultra intelligence , would lead her to reason that this could change his perspective on Humanity and even change his current attitude .
As I’ve said , most puzzling .
Thoughts people ???
Because they didn’t destroy the flood.

It’s indeed funny how with the flood being such an integral part of both theirs and the didacts storylines , that she doesn’t even give it a fleeting mention though …,
I’m not sure that they have beaten the flood though, just cos they have destroyed an infestation on earth/high charity isn’t the end of it. Take the flood from the Mona Lisa story? I think the flood will only be counted as beaten when they find a way to stop it absorbing humans. In my opinion, also the Diadact may have had Ancilla blocking any AI interference, maybe?
Humanity didn’t defeat the flood though. Besides the Didact would still want revenge for all the things Humanity did to the Forerunners during the Human-Forerunner war

True , there may be spores of the flood infection still out there , and even feral forms , but Chief and Cortana had beaten ( perhaps temporarily ) the flood by Twarting and destroying the Gravemind … They did indeed beat the flood , something I’m sure ( although Silentium is incoming so I could be corrected ) the Didact failed to do . Noteworthy ?? Something to at least challenge his statement of us as ‘unworthy’ and encourage him to change his perspective ?
Although I really like the idea of the Diadact having an Anchilla … Wouldn’t this have stopped Cortana in her tracks when she restrained him ?

Destroying the Gravemind ( which reverts all flood back to a feral state ) is something the Forerunners themselves failed to achieve though .
I thought even the UR Didacts’ burning hatred for humanity was softening after the events of the Primordium book … Really hoping Silentium explains more .
