I’ve made tons of friends here lately, and it doesn’t matter how many groups I run with. I have yet to meet a SINGLE person who even remotely enjoys assault. Every time it comes up at least two in my groups of four have something negative to say about it. Sarcastic “oh greats,” “-Yoink- assault,” “sick of this -Yoink-,” the list goes on forever.
Im done with assault. I’ll take the bans, I’ll take the loss in onyx rankings. I’m dash boarding every game of assault from now on.
It’s not that I’m no good at it, I’ve probably won more than I’ve lost. I just hate it. Despise it. Words can’t describe the disgust I feel for that putrid game type. Arena breakout got removed due to bad reception right? Why is assault still in Arena then? Where’s oddball? Where’s Doubles? King of the Hill? Why is the competitive community being force fed game types that, as far as I can tell, we all hate, while game types and playlists we love are being held back?
Let,'s look for a moment at the sheer amount it comes up as well. When I run solo, I find the games I like. Truth CTF, Rig Strongholds, Plaza Slayer, yet any time I join up on a group of three we get Regret Assault, Truth Assault, Empire Assault, Coliseum Slayer, then right back to Fathom Assault.
I’m just going to edit this in real quick, I see more and more dashboards from assault every day. 8 person lobbies drop to four or five person lobbies while we get to sit there and wait ten more minutes for the lobby to fill because no one wants to play it.
TL;DR: No one likes assault and I refuse to play another match of it.
I stray from Team Arena because I don’t have a team to play with. I agree that it sucks and that’s why I’ve only played it once (on day of release). As a Halo player with few friends who still play, I want game types like Team Doubles and Team Snipers. I’m -Yoinking!- sick of choosing from 6 game modes, or however many there are.
Also, I’ll get some hate for this but I don’t give a -Yoink-. Team Snipers and or Team Doubles > Infection

I actually like Assault, but it does come up an ungodly amount of the time. I’m getting sick of it just because 4/5 matches are all assault, like you said. My guess is they weighted it heavier to get people used to it, they can pull it back now.
Yeah I don’t enjoy it at all. Had a game recently where it went the whole 15 mins just for a tie. Would rather have Oddball, although I do get that it’s kinda whichever team can hide the best, or KOTH. Much prefer CTF/strongholds.
I’m not sure what you’re talking about. My Spartan company and I actually LOVE assault so much that the assault ball is on our company emblem. I think you just need to be good at it and win a lot to like it haha
I can’t speak for assault because I only play FFA at the moment. I have to agree with the OP that we should absolutely have Double Team, Oddball and KOTH. Maybe players would like new game modes if they weren’t rammed down our throats due to an intentional lack of playlists and modes.
