By simple majority vote. Thus, armor lock would be removed from many matchmaking playlists, bloom would be changed, etc. seriously. What do you all think?
i bet if i added a poll, they would be easily the majority for change.
i agree but i have asked randoms about changes and they didnt even knwo what “bloom” is.
This game has halo in teh title, i dont understand why anyoen would be against making reach play like a halo gama AKA bleedthrough, ZB, fast movement and jump
It’s funny because most of the things people don’t like in Reach are things blatantly asked for by the community back in Halo 3 days.
So no, this wouldn’t work I’m afraid. Why? Because the community doesn’t know what the hell it wants.

Oh god. Finally made the switch from bnet eh?
And you act like the community as a whole has one opinion, or that even the same people are changing their minds, which I guarantee you they aren’t.
Also I would LOVE an explanation with sources as to when people asked for these things during H3.

Mike, while I agree on what a Halo title SHOULD be, Reach really doesn’t seem like it could get made into a Halo title. IMO we take what we’ve got and fix it. the TU did a lot of this, although ZB arguably breaks everything else too much. I think experimenting with sprint starts, and the other AA’s as pick ups on the map is worth trying. But in reality, I really think Reach is to far gone to attempt to revive it, at least in default. Not to mention the huge slap in the face it would be to Bungie.
And MLG will surely make it as much of a Halo title as possible; Right now the ZB is in it’s infancy, give it a couple versions and I can see MLG Reach being better than MLG H3 (LAN; it’s already better over live with the Stupid BR Spread.
A poll where? On the forums? The forums are most certainly NOT any sort of representation of the “majority” of the community as a whole. In fact, the Waypoint forums and any other Halo message board community are only the minority of the community as a whole.
And they gather enough data from in-game systems that track what people are shooting with, on what maps, gametypes, with what Armor Abilities, etc… There is no need for a “poll”.
The majority of Reach’s players are casuals and exploiters. Making decisions based on a majority vote would run this entire franchise into the ground quicker than anything else.
Halo 4 is the only way to fix Reach! until then lets all go back to MW3, Gears3, Battlefield etc…

I would thank you for this if I didn’t hate you so much.

Every game, actually everything usually comes with problems or difficulties along the way, in the end we all have to adapt… sadly, we cannot all get what we all want.
There’s a distinction that needs to be made between a good game and a more popular game. Not necessarily an exclusive difference, but you need to consider what most people would say they wanted is not always what’s actually better.

The forums are the majority of the people that know what the hell “bloom” even means (as an example). While i see what your saying, i think what 343 needs to do is keep as many as the current players as possible and bring back the old ones. And honestly, i doubt that all of the DMR spammers will notice if bloom is gone, except that they will start whining about lag. And quite frankly, thats their problem.
As for in game data systems:
Map depends on whatever random crap the system decides to give us (usually forge world)
same with game types.
Most of the people I know hate armor lock, and they use it simply because other people use it, and because its there.
My point being that those systems are dependent on what the system randomizes in the first place, and is NOT a good representation of what maps people like and hate. except, of course, the constant, constant voting for hemorrhage.
If 343 let its players vote for features, and added one of those little pop ups on the main menu telling people they could, i think it would work rather nicely.
PS. the amount of people that actually like bloom and armor lock is largely overestimated.
> Oh god. Finally made the switch from bnet eh?
No.

While I know for a fact many people have changed their minds (it isn’t like all the regular forum goers suddenly stop coming the the forums once they get what they want), I’m implying neither than the entire community is of one mind nor that everybody changes their minds. Those are your own projections mate.
Whether it’s the same people or not doesn’t matter in the slightest. What matters is that the majority of people are stating one thing, then all of the sudden the majority says the other thing. People back in the days deliberately asked for something along the lines of Bloom (claiming, and rightly so, that the Battle Rifle was far too overpowered and shouldn’t be the all-powerful God weapon). People wanted equipment to evolve. People wanted a game about Reach (the people that understood why Bungie couldn’t do Halo 4, and admittedly many people wanted something along the lines of… Red Team and Blue Team from the novels instead… but whatever). People wanted new gametypes. People wanted certain playlists.
Half these things? When Reach was released, even though feedback was mostly positive in the beta, the community online turned against the things Bungie put in specifically because they asked for it. It doesn’t matter if they’re the same people or different people. All that matters is the majority presence that Bungie can see and interact with changed its mind despite the majority presence wanting those things in the first place.

No. I have no desire to prove my statements to you. I say them as fact. If you choose not to believe me unless I go digging around in years old threads, then that’s fine. I still have no intention of wasting my time doing so though, sorry.
