Most of H4's woes fixed with 1 simple change.

To see how much Halos default movement speed has slowed down just boot up Halo CE or Halo 2 and run around Blood Gulch or Lockout for a bit. Then fire up H4 and it feels like spartans are wearing bricks on their feet. This is the big reason why the return of the CE pistol/H2 BR in the new DMR isnt working out. There simply is no strafe to speak of and hitting opponents is just too easy, thus making whoever shoots first often the winner.

EDIT: Trust me it has nothing to do with magnetism or autoaim. Go on blood gulch and repeat the exact test done on H4 magnetism as seen int he youtube vids and you will see for yourself halo has always had (atleast on utility weapons CE,H2, and reach) the same level of auto aim.

Load up a H4 custom game to try it yourself and Bump default movement to 120. It doesn’t feel like ice skating and is very liberating. This change would also help balance out the bolshot since faster moving players are more difficult to hit.

As it is now H4 has H3 movement speed, a movement speed slowed down to balance out bullet travel time and burst fire weapons. This is bad decision for H4 since we are using hit scan and for the most part single shot precision weapons.

This is the reason for many of H4’s problems. This bump in movemnt speed would make maps seem smaller (as many complain H4’s maps are very stretched out), help balance the DMR and bolt, and make kill times less instakill as they are now.

SPRINT
-I have played a few customs on 120 and found sprint to not be too bad at all. Heck if anything with sprint it makes the generally stretched out maps of H4 much more smaller and fast paced.

Ummm…no…get used sprint, because its not going away.

And no, it won’t fix “most of Halo’s problems”. You’re reaching on a few of those. Sorry OP.

Read the end of the OP again, never said anything against sprint.

How will it not help balance out the DMR and bolt? Faster moving targets are harder to hit. Is that incorrect?

It won’t do anything to balance the DMR because the problem with the DMR is not that it is hard to strafe, though that’s a problem with all weapons.

The problem is that it thrashes all the other weapons and changing the movement speed/speed to change direction won’t do anything for that.

The Boltshot is just a -Yoinking!- joke.

I gotta hand it to OP on this one. The increased movement speed in Team Slayer Pro while it was around made things play much, much smoother. It just felt right. Here’s hoping it remains the same when/if it returns.
