Most memorable moment in halo franchise?

For me the most memorable moment was in halo 3 when sgt johnson met with death. It really had an impact on me for a while since you hang with him and get to know the fella a bit.

There are thousands for me but my main ones are exploring the multiplayer maps in Custom Games, the Halo 3 ending and saving Cortana. Playing Halo Reach forge with my friends. Halo is one of those games you can’t forget a single moment.

Halo 3 ending because I was beyond hyped for the game. The music really got to me at the end and seeing 117 etched into the memorial to signal he is dead was overwhelming. In my opinion that is how Halo should have ended.

When the Chief and Arbiter nod to each other once they are aboard the Forward Unto Dawn. Their “bromance”, for lack of a better word, was solidified in that moment. No words needed. Just an acknowledgement that they were in this together and in the end, they were gonna make it home. Sadly it took the Chief four years to make good on that unspoken agreement, but it carried a lot of impact nonetheless.

Halo is a game that I feel I grew up with. So there are many memorable moments for me. Heres a list of those moments.

Losing sgt johnson in h3 left me a little shocked. He was a character I had fought battles with and easily was my favourite marine in the game. It was a shame to see him go.
Halo reach was the first halo I played on Xbox. I had grown to feel like I was a part of noble team and not just playing a game on a console, so losing noble team one by one was a bit of a downer. Especially Jorge.
Halo CE was the first ever halo game I had played in my life so playing the anniversary edition was a real trip down memory lane. The ending still leaves a lasting image in my memory to this day.
H4’s graphics gave further immersion into the game world, although they were cartoonish at most, it still felt like I was right there in chief’s boots on requiem. Although the most savoured moment was defeating the didact and finally shutting him up. God he never stopped talking…
Another memorable moment from h3 was finally finding every last skull in the game and unlocking the full hyabusa armour set.
H3ODST’s campaign was interesting. It was a chance to play as someone other than chief or arbiter. Throughout the campaign, buck had easily become my favourite.

there are a lot more moments that left a lasting memory, but these are the ones that are most memorable for me. With halo infinite coming soon, I think we can all expect to see a lot of memorable moments in that.

There are many, but my top three:

”Tank beats Everything” moment in H3.

The first time I saw Kat’s Death in Halo: Reach… which was the first time a video game made me cry (followed shortly by Dom’s death).

The Maw on Halo CE, that Warthog run will always be seared into my mind!

The Warthog runs from both CE and 3, and Lone Wolf from Reach. “I have the gun, sir.”

The MCC coming to PC will be a very significant milestone in the history of Halo.

There would be so many I could choose. If I had to settle on just one, it’d probably be the “117” etched into the impromptu memorial.

Halo 3 ending for the part of when sgt Johnson died to where Master Chief and arbiter got split up and made you believe the war was over and that the Chief died in a way

Really really did appreciate this moment as well.

Even so, I was glad for the post credit scene to see that he and Cortana survived. Having read Ghosts of Onyx and watched the legendary ending I REALLY hoped that the Chief was going to find his way inside the Dyson Sphere or break blue team and the Spartan iii’s out of the sphere and return home.

Wasn’t sure and still not sure where the story would go from there if they took that route but I certainly wouldn’t have brought back the forerunners. In my personal opinion, the forerunners being dead and a mystery with occasional discoveries about them being made through uncovered artifacts and installations is the preferred method of going forward.

Maybe the stories going forward could have been Blue team’s and Halsey’s efforts to find and shut down the other Halo rings while slowly learning of humanity being destined to inherit everything the forerunners left behind as said by Spark in Halo 3.

It gave me a sense of closure, something that 343 screwed up utterly with 4 and 5. “… The Halos. The Flood. The Covenant. It’s over.” “It’s over…”
