Cortana having served the UNSC for so long and being an AI most likely has information on most of the UNSC war assets. What do you think are her first five targets?
- Earth specifically the ONI headquarters.
- Shield world of Onyx
- UNSC Infinity
- Major ship yards
- The armies of the inner colonies
Come on the Chief should probably be on that list. She was so close to taking him, I am sure she is pissed she did not get away with him.

ONI’s flagship.
The Sol System.
UNSC Infinity.
Onyx.
Her husbando.
The shipyard production/maintenance area’s. Can’t do much without them.

- UNSC Infinity
- ORF Trevyln (Onyx) (but only if she has Intel about it)
- UEG Population Centers
- UNSC Forces in non-UEG space
- MCPO John-117/Blue Team
Energy sheilded warships. More so than even Spartans. Easily the best thing humanity has accomplished since the end of the Covenant War.
- Shipyards - ONI Prowler fleet - Spartan Branch - UNSC Infinity - Lord HoodAll Cortana needs to do is to stop the production of new ships to win. Without any naval forces to fight in space even the most primitive ship in orbit can force a planet to surrender under threat of orbital bombardment. Now 2 & 3 I think would be what truly wins the war. I don’t know how effective Prowler stealth systems are against Forerunners, but the ability to deploy Spartan fire teams to either destroy Guardians via nukes or Created strongholds is the only way for the UNSC to win at this point. Finally the Infinity and Lord Hood would just be just be to demoralize humanity. The loss of the leader that ensured humanity’s survival against the Covenant and the most powerful warship they have would destroy any hope of victory.
As far as I can tell everyone skipped the obvious and most important part of war, communication…Cease the enemies ability to communicate and you have the upper hand.

On that note we know how to do it on a terrestrial level, but how do you jam interstellar communications on a strategic level across solar systems?
- ONI HQ
- Dr. Halsey
- UNSC Infinity
- Midnight Facility
- John 117
1): John-117 and Blue Team
2.) UNSC Infinity
3): Trevelyan
4): UNSC controlled Huragok
5): Autumn Class heavy cruisers.
Obviously she would go after Chierf and blue team. Even if it was just Chief alone she would chase him down because the man is capable of ridiculous amounts of destruction.
Cortana would (is) chasing Infinity down for a few reasons: it carries a large amount of Spartans and other ground troops, it can function as a base for long periods of time, she carries her own fleet, and she has Forerunner improved shields, systems and weapons.
Trevelyan holds immeasurable secrets and even Forerunner ships (and Huragok). It’s a matter of if she can access it or not. Seeing as the port als don’t work, I’d wager “not” (assuming the humans lock it down).
Huragok (especially the Forerunner ones humans have) can improve upon human and Swords of Sanghelios tech. They pose a signifigant threat to Cortana’s plans.
Finally, the Autumn class cruisers are the most impressive ships (apart from Infinity) humans have. If even a few managed to escape and regroup with other forces, they would be very hard to destroy because of their design. Like all human ships though, they would need resupply of weapons. Best option for those ships would be to find infinity.
Lets not forget the pretty much confirmed alive Preston J Cole…here’s hoping he shows up.

Yeah that would be super helpful. Although who knows if this will be a big naval war…

I’m not familiar with the ONI flagship? Or do you mean their flagship base?

I thought about it but given the technology levels I figure this would be pretty impossible. I’m assuming the humans in Halo are not as stupid as the humans in Mass Effect that had one planet that was pretty much their entire communication backbone.
From what I have gathered ONI for example has communication array’s completely off the gird. And given the number of planets in Halo it’s safe to say Cortana would literally have to find some type of way to send a signal throughout the galaxy to stop communications. Trying to disrupt them by physical means would be impossible.

I don’t know if he will be such a huge war asset this time around. He will be an asset but probably no that much more than fire team Osiris or Majestic. Even Cortana acknowledged how much Locke gets around lol…

Sure, but Chief’s main benefit is that even alone, he is capable of insane amounts of destruction and success. He is also a morale booster to other human troops, so he acts as a center point in many cases.

The ONI’s private stealth cruiser that is the home of Section 3 and is one of the most advance if not the most advance ship within Human control.
