This is ABSOLUTELY ridiculous. Halo 5 is a fantastic game from what I’ve played so far, and it’s reputation is being ruined by these idiots saying the game is terrible just because it doesn’t have splitscreen.
Even worse then that, half of the people saying this had no idea splitscreen wasn’t going to be in the game (When it was revealed quite a while back) then blamed 343i for not including it when they didn’t have much of choice.
I can understand the hate for no split screen. It was, and when I say “was” meaning back then before halo 4, fun to have a friend over and blow through the campaign on legendary or get some split screen social slayer matches in. Now the game is so much faster paced and hard to play on split screen. Enemies are faster, gameplay and movement is faster. Split screen would drive me nuts! Also now that my buddy and I are all grown up now, have lives and work full time it’s hard to get together anymore to do split screen gaming. Schedules just don’t work out like they used to, so I’m not missing split screen that much. The co-op works out so. I have better for us. I can understand that split screen is a vital part of halo, always has been. But he game doesn’t deserve hate because of it.

Of course it’s a big part of Halo I really do agree, but it most certainly doesn’t deserve the amount of hate it’s getting now.
They’re calling the game terrible just because of its dismissal of splitscreen.

> What do you mean 343 “didn’t have much of a choice”? They chose to put something superficial like 60fps over a core game element like split screen.
Well they would have to sacrifice frames and graphics for splitscreen. Frames are barely hitting 60 fps even without a 1080p resolution and splitscreen pretty much meaning they could not cram in splitscreen in anyway other way then significantly lowering graphical capabilities and frames.
On top of that the engine they were using is built for 60 fps, so creating a new engine would take too long.
There are people who can explain it better then I can, you can look it up.

Right…
Which means that, at some point early in development, 343 made the choice to favor frames per second over split screen.

Frames are generally important. Graphics? Well we all know now days it’s considered essential to have good graphics in a game.
The people who complain about the game not having split screen are the same people who would complain about the game not being a true next gen experience. They sacrifice something as little as split screen to give us the best fedility and fps they could offer. I don’t know about you, but in my books ill take a game that looks great and feels great to play over some small feature like split screen.

I don’t think splitscreen is a small feature but if they’re removing it for a better expierience and more improvements I’m fine with that.
I don’t think the game’s reputation is being “ruined” by people saying they miss split-screen, but gamers do tend to get a bit out of control with their criticism towards developers. Personally, I miss the split-screen element and it was a bummer to have to tell my daughter that we couldn’t play the new Halo together. That being said, I still LOVE this game and my daughter and I can still play together on MCC. Here’s hoping some clever programmer discovers some great new way to incorporate split screen on the next Halo without jeopardizing the 60fps that they clearly place as one of their top priorities. Considering how far games have come since they began working on Halo 5, it’s not crazy to think they’ll be able to come up with a solution to the split-screen conundrum by the next release.

first 3 spot on, couldn’t care less about loadouts, sounds like a CoD thing.
Admittedly, this is the First Halo Game I’ve played properly since Halo, on the original Xbox
Splitscreen not fussed about
It would either be 60fps 1080p or splitscreen fanboys complaining on here. Sadly we lost split screen. I cant even tell the difference between 720 and 1080p to be honest, or 60 fps for that matter.

Halo was a fun split-screen game. I remember a friend and me tearing through Halo 2’s campaign and multiplayer a lot. What kind of rebuttal did you think you made?
I’m not sure that’s true, but if it is then that’s good news.
If Halo 5’s biggest problem is the absence of a feature fewer and fewer people are using that’s waaaaay better than say, a horrible campaign, broken matchmaking, bad graphics, etc…

60fps is not superficial. 60fps>>>>>>split screen

Go play a game that has 30fps then go back and play Halo 5. There’s a difference. A HUGE difference.

Who wouldn’t ur logic wouldn’t make sense especially for those who did split screen. As for the OP there are absolutely many customers who don’t have the time nor would follow the Halo news they have better things to do. So when they purchase it on launch date they have no clue what they have gotten themselves into. Seen it in GameStop people didn’t even know there was reqs in the new Halo or lack of stuff that was in previous Halo’s.
Besides, split screen is going the way of the dodo bird. I don’t think you nostalgic fanboys realize how few kids use split screen. Play online like everyone or just move on.
