It also kind of hurts the hard work the artists and developers put into creating cosmetics, since lot less consumers will ever get ahold of it. It’s more difficult for artists to show off their work with less consumers.

At this rate when the beta ends on December 8, 343 will have destroyed the game, all because of greed.

Absolutely disgusting how expensive these items are, not to mention the fact that progression is absolutely tone deaf. How did they think locking the tenrai event two a couple of weekly events spread apart was a good idea. Not to mention the fact that challenges are still the dumbest progression ever.

I mean, you’re wrong. They’re “staying silent” because first they have to gather the feedback, then they need to have a meeting about said feedback, then they have to draft a statement, then the statement has to be sent around to the higher ups, then after any revisions it gets released.

When they pitched the ranking/ unlock system, I figured it’d be fine as you’d earn in store currency in game… at a slower rate than buying the stuff but still- kinda like Gears 5. As that isn’t the case I am dissappointed and really hate wearing Aviator as my only free mk VII helmet so far lol.

You can believe what you like but I don’t know how much more feedback they need given the backlash. Don’t Lord your “superior understanding” of the gaming industry, it’s distasteful.
A simple “we hear you” or even suspending the absolutely dog -Yoink!- customization system would do wonders.
Given their propensity to lie and use shady tactics, it’s much more believable that they are going to reap as much money from the system as is, then start apologizing.
If they offer refunds to the poor souls who actually paid for this trash after being mislead, I’ll eat my words.

It’s actually more than that. What I posted is generally how public statements work in the game industry. What you posted is an uneducated conspiracy that they’re deliberately not saying anything to get extra cash (an actual opinion)

I base mine off of what we’ve seen this far. You’re basing yours on “gaming industry experience” as a stranger on the internet.
Not trying to be rude but it’s silly to try and say “you’re wrong” to people so matter-of-factly when you know just as much as everyone else.

I’ve worked in the game industry for 11 years and I’ve been on email threads with community to help draft statements/patch notes. Obviously you don’t have to believe me, but at the end of the day one of us is right and the other one is just super mad they can’t get their hands on a few cosmetic items.

Trying to conflate my point with " being mad because I want cosmetics " is funny though. It’s easy to minimize the issue by making it sound ridiculous.
In reality, the issue is that this is predatory and exploitative.

This was kinda the final straw for me. Like the OP said this was the chance to show some good faith and right the ship a bit. Instead 343 tripled down on their predatory monetization scheme. I think I’m done and that’s just so freaking sad. You should be ashamed 343i, you made something awesome and completely ruined it because of greed.
