Most exciting part of the beta for me!

The most exciting part of the beta for me was the fact that the AR is now relevant.
The threat of the AR made me more focused on clutching my last BR shots to ensure I defeated the AR users in duels. This gave me huge adrenalin pumps and when it was so close and I perfected the AR users with my BR or DMR it was the best feeling I’ve ever had against an AR user. It was amazing.
I need that feeling back.

The other thing was, that during AR starts the AR was actually fun to use for the first time ever. I never thought I would say it but I actually love the AR in a halo game for the first time ever. I really hope they haven’t nerfed it too much after the beat and ruined it

The AR has a larger clip and no longer does headshot damage but it still doesn’t feel like shooting pennies! I am glad that the AR is more useful at short-mid range. The AR starts were fun though.

AR starts were indeed less painful to play than in previous titles, which means something.
I would still strongly advocate “non-automatic” weapon starts though, be they with a magnum, a BR, a DMR or a carbine. That’s why I’m playing this FPS.

Like I said in a nother post.
Im glad that the MA5D feels like a “real” weapon.
Considering that it’s the standard issue weapon of the UNSC.

I didn’t get the chance to play the beta. As someone who sunk some time into using the Halo 4 AR, what are the most notable differences I’ll feel?

Don’t get too used to it. Just like in Halo 4, a half a dozen “competitive” players will complain that the AR is over-powered. 343 will issue a title update six months after launch in which the AR will a) have less aim assist b) do less damage c) be nerfed in ways we haven’t even yet thought of d) all of the above. Net result will be the Reach AR, which was tantamount to spawning with a fly swatter.

I think the smart scope has made it more viable at a slightly longer range than in previous games.
