Most difficult segments on legendary?

What do you think were the most difficult segments of CE on legendary?

For me the most difficult aspect was truth and reconciliation, when your lifted into the ship and are attacked by multiple energy sword wielding heretics. Not only do you have to deal with the elites, but you’re constantly getting flanked.

i would have to say i agree with this. This particular level was the most annoying/hardest that i had to deal with on ledgendary.

Keyes and Two Betrayals.

I eventually had to redo the whole level and save sniper ammo. The trick is to save the camo and health pack until the very end, and use the plasma pistol on grunts/jackals and save the snipe for dealing with elites. It still took me hours.

T&R. I tried so many times to do it but failed. I eventually did it after I did it with a friend, but that level totally destroyed me.

If anyone says The Library, then you know they are lying.

T&R was tough, but nothing compared to when you have to fight your way to a banshee at the end of Two Betrayals.

The first encounter with Spec. Ops. covies on Keyes was no walk in the park either…

Dont even get me started on the library…

> Dont even get me started on the library…

Eh, the Library only has maybe 3 or so spots that are all that nasty, and if you really want to, it’s possible to completely BS your way past one of them.

It’s not an easy level, but people exaggerate its difficulty, perhaps because it is quite difficult if you try and fight Flood as though they were more Covenant.

Two Betrayals with the second banshee segment and the bridges.

Two Betrayals and The Library make me want to quit Halo and stuff a moving tractor down my throat. It’d be easier to have a 4v1 against an MLG team.

Ironically enough, Two Betrayals is my favorite Halo CE mission.

On AotCR, the part where you are coming outside to find a Wraith and 2 shade turrets shooting at pinned in marines.

Instead of going straight for the rocket launcher and sniper, I always pistol the gunners, frag the Ghosts, kill the Elite and Grunts with plasma, and use the Ghost to deal with the remaining. I make sure the marines don’t follow me until the area’s cleared. I also do this because if you do the bridge jump, you can get additional marines and activate their AI by going near the unmanned Ghost near the crashed Pelican. After clearing the area of everything except the Wraith, it’s always that Wraith that kills me. Long distance rockets aren’t really reliable. Warthog risks my marines. Ghost bolts take too long. And the only time I can have a chance against it is if I fire a rocket from up close coupled with frags and plasmas (I also deal with the frozen pond Wraith using close up rocket launcher or the Shade turret if it spawns there). Retrieving the Banshee makes dealing with it a lot easier.

Other than that, the first 5 levels are easy because there’s only Covies to deal with. By AotCR, Covies are easy to deal with.

On Two Betrayals, the part where the Sentinels and Covies first fight each other. And any area with rocket launcher Flood.

Lolno

Roflyes.

Two Betrayals’ massive armies, the clever flanking of the flood, and the massive armies made that level unforgiving.

Keyes’ relentless assaults forced a player to think of everything. If you didn’t conserve ammo and drop low ammo weapons you’d certainly die quickly.

Truth and Reconciliation still wins. Keyes is one of the easiest levels on Legendary if you know how to shield bump. Two Betrayals is hard if you try to actually go through the whole level and kill every enemy, otherwise, it’s not that hard.

What? Where exactly would shield bumping help much on Two Betrayals?

On a more important note, I don’t think you understand what people mean by levels being difficult. They’re referring to normal playthroughs. Obviously, for instance, Silent Cartographer is easier if you bump through the door. But what fun is there in that unless you’re just screwing around or speedrunning?

I meant Keyes, sorry for the typo :S but I personally enjoy speed-running levels after completing them after a few times. If you are talking about going through the entire level, then Two Betrayals or TnR take the cake.

Two betrayals is tough as balls, so is Keyes, but the only level that really took my -Yoink- apart was TnR.

No doubt it would be different for everyone, but we can all agree that The Library was not the hardest. Most irritating level ever made, yes, but not the hardest.

Same spot for me too op.

The Library was very tedious, but not hard, I agree with that.

I don’t agree that Keyes and Two Betrayals were hard though… Keyes was just plain short and quite easy, and in TB the only remotely hard checkpoint is where you set off the second to last power core thingy, and a thousand flood with rocket launchers come from everywhere while you have no shields.

In my opinion, the hardest legendary level was TaR, but not because of the part where you first come on the ship (I have never had any trouble with that part). The part before it, however, where you have to fight wave after wave of enemies before you can finally use the grav lift, is WAY harder, and probably took me the longest out of any checkpoint in the game. You literally had to fight two hunters, about 100 grunts, 30 jackals, and 10 elites, with limited ammo/grenades and no checkpoints or cover.

I could find a strategy for that. It’s time someone plays it with SLASO in mind. That’s where my expertise is in fps Halos.

Monopoli’s good at implementing his speedrun strategies. I’m good at implementing my slow and careful approach.
