Most BTB Maps are to Small

Am I the only one that thinks most of the btb maps in Halo 5 are to small. Where some the other games they would be ok, just the style of gameplay halo 5 has the maps just seem to small and cluttered and just become a big spam fest. Now not all maps are like this but a good chunk of them I find are to a degree.

It’s the BR.

All maps save for Basin, Altar, and Risen were built around the magnum.

Get rid of BR starts, the maps will play better.

The problem is the BR has to much range so they make the maps more cqc. If you had magnum starts however it would open up the maps more. Not sure why 343 can’t understand this

I don’t have a problem with the size of BTB maps or BR starts. I don’t like huge maps where I feel like I’m just running half the time and see nothing, like Warzone.

I’m not opposed to trying pistol starts either instead of BR starts, as long as there are a decent amount of BRs, Carbines, etc on the maps as pick up weapons.

Also I’m really liking how most of the new BTB maps play as well.

I would like to try pistol starts.

So far the only problems I have are with Traffic Jam and Boulevard. They play way too small for BTB, and I honestly don’t think pistols would help.

I say certain maps should be pistol starts and some br starts. Basin, deadlock should be pistol starts, but dispelled a map that’s really huge should be br starts. The more bigger maps should be br starts and the smaller ones pistol starts. Remember when social modes have variety of game types in em. I remember in h3 in social slayer we had dual weapons, br starts, ar starts, rocket slayer, snipers, swords. Gosh in 343s playlist it’s like same weapons every time. Imagine in the social slayer modes. We had stuff like covenant slayer, dmr,br,LR starts etc. it be fun.

I’d like to try pistol starts as well.

Agreed, BTB needs Magnum starts. Though I must add, Echoes was made for BR starts as well.

I feel the exact opposite. You’re so exposed on these maps because there’s so much space in between cover.

Also so since I’m seeing some people have sense, btb should be magnum starts, most were made with them in mind to begin with. Plus the BR makes the issue of being exposed so much worse cause of its range, magnetism, and RRR.

Exactly. BR starts worked in previous games because it wasn’t as powerful as H5’s BR. The BR would have to see a dramatic reduction in aim assist/bullet mag/effective range (I personally would like to see these changes made regardless of BTB) in order for BR starts to work in H5.

Designers seem to have forgotten that one of the reasons for BTB is vehicle combat. Remember Blood Gulch? Sand Trap? Paradiso/Utopie? It’s as if 343i doesn’t really understand the basics of open map design.
