Hey there! So I’d like to eventually get to 700/700 on the achievement tracker. Is there a way to knock out most of them on one complete play-through? If not, do you have any suggestions for how to attack?
You really have to look at each game and what achievements they have. Most won’t be able to be gotten with one play through. For example the par time achievements you have to put the game on easy and just run through the levels as fast as possible. Doing those it’s pretty much impossible to get anything else. Getting all 700 achievements is quite the feat in this game. Probably only a handful of players have managed to do it. The under three hour legendary speed runs and the LASO campaign completions are very very VERY tough. When going for achievements do a youtube search and there are a lot of videos of how to get them.
Most of the achievements are: complete campaign missions, Easter eggs, and kill ### enemies. If it is your first time, I would recommend watching guides on each mission to know where the Easter eggs are, and load up “The Master Chief Saga” playlist which will take you from the very first mission on Halo: Combat Evolved right until the very last mission on Halo 4.
For most, I just did the achievements while watching the youtube vids for it at the same time.
I think at most you can unlock those who require to complete the games on each difficulty, if you start directly on legendary. There are also those about killing x number of enemies, and finding terminals/skulls. But I reckon that you won’t be able to unlock most of them, they might require multiple playthroughs. My suggestion would be, if you missed an achievement, just go back to that mission and repeat it.
I’d say do the master chief saga then do every games legendary playlist then do solo spartan ops legendary (worst achievement in the game) then do all the hidden collectibles after.
As someone who has all the Achievements in MCC (think I was the 820th person according to TrueAchievements) it’s a big task. I made a AMA thread shortly after, might find some useful info there as I was replying to questions people had.
I’d recommend looking at the achievements the the in game menu in the Career tab. It breaks it down game by game. I’d select a game and look at all the easy achievements such as anything Easter egg related, par times & par scores etc.
I always go through all the Campaigns on legendary first time playing. That pops a lot of achievements.
Same with Spartan Ops, to get 90% of Spartan Ops achievements done at once do it all solo on Legendary. It takes a lot of time but isn’t that hard since you can respawn infinitely. Saves you playing through co op and then solo.
There’s a lot for killing enemy types that you’ll get naturally too.
Like I said above, check the achievements game by game and break down the easiest stuff.
Legendary Speedruns & LASO playlists were some of the last stuff I did due to the amount of time it takes to do them.
