More weapon variety and alien guns

When will the alien guns show up, this is Halo.
I don’t want a beta of nothing but DMR and BR with a dash of starting loadout.
Even the weapon vote is all UNSC.

Needs some Covy guns, plasma pistol, needle rifle etc…

Oh come on. Don’t we all want something mean and green?

Well we will probably see energy sword, elites in the locke cutscene have em, we will probably see basic covenant guns like Plasma Rifle, Plasma Pistol, Fuel Rod, Covenant Carbine, that covenant sniper thing, and maybe something else.

What I want is something new and interesting, the lock on rocket launcher is cool but that should’ve been added to the original rocket launcher for vehicles IMO.
Some kind of laser weapon thats un-zoomable but easy to use would be cool, like the sentinel beam in Halo 2 MP. Grav hammer should definently return.

Beta is meant for testing. They have a limited number of weapons available over it.

More will be available in the final product.

They really outdid themselves when it comes to weapon balance. It seems every weapon in the beta has a purpose and fulfills it’s role. I’m interested to see what the Covie weapons bring to the table.

Yeah it is for testing, so why not test them too?

I’m still of the opinion that they should have stuck with the Plasma Launcher instead of UNSC-ing it into that grenade launcher.

Needler variants alone offer some degree of excitement and exotic-ness.

Forerunner guns though, not so much.

I think (hope) they’ve made the Forerunner guns more unique, but there’s no telling until we see them.

OMG! You gotta be kidding me…! Really? the story line is the enemy has those weapons, no thanks…

I really hope they let us try Covenant and Promethean weapons at some point in the beta. I don’t want them to be brought back as watered-down versions of UNSC weapons as they were in Halo 4.

The Prometh weapons had that problem more so, felt like reskins a bunch.
Covy sandbox basically contracted and some neat additions were lost.

The light rifle was burst fire zoomed out, and single shot carbine zoomed in.

The bolt shot was a semi auto pistol, or a sawed off shotgun, depending on if you charged it or not.

The suppressor was a bullet hose WAY more so than anything else in the game.

The Binary Rifle was a slow firing, 1 shot kill, like the AWP in counter strike.

The incinerator cannon was very similar to the rocket, but instead of 2 shots, it had a massive area of effect for its one shot clip.

I disagree promethian guns were just reskins of UNSC guns.

The LR was just BR+DMR when scoped in. Like the early Halo 2 BR. Except glowing bullets.
Boltshot was a pistol with a charge to shotgun. Glowing bullets.
Suppressor was AR/SMG with glowing bullets.
Scattershot was a shotgun with glowing bullets, ricochet effect never really seemed to do anything. And neither is that anything new.

Incinerator and Binary however, I can concede were unique. Very powerful, and unique. The one shot sniper and the cluster rocket.
The others, the primary weapons, not so much. I guess a charge up shot is kinda unique. But aside from glowing bullets, nothing really new.

Illuminates enemies maybe? Damage over time effect? I dunno.

DoT sounds good. Maybe the bullets could be bigger to add a splash damage effect, or even a knockback effect.

Splash could work, perhaps a tradeoff with non-hitscan shots.
Knockback might just being annoying, already have guns for that purpose like the concussion rifle and brute shot.

Maybe Plasma Stun could be brought back and changed up a bit.

Alien guns will be in Week 2 of the Beta, so no worries there. :slight_smile:
