I doubt there’ll be any other weapon death effects besides the one we know about and I doubt any of the other weapons, besides Promethean weapons will make this effect.
I think it’s awesome too but it should only stay with the Promethean weapons.
I don’t think there will be much outside of Forerunner weapon dissolving, but perhaps they could enhance the needler’s supercombine to actually vaporize your Spartan in the explosion?

It’s just an idea.
The covenant weapons should do some kind of death effect too.
I always thought the covenant’s plasma weapons could do what plasma weapons do in the Fallout universe. Melt people. Imagine getting hit by a wraith’s plasma mortar and you spartan just instantly melts away and all that’s left is the charred skeleton and a puddle of melted flesh and armor. Of course this would be a little too much for Halo. But it’s an idea.
If there is a flame based weapon, which I think there is it, could turn the armor all black and appear burnt, or completely disintegrate the enemies body altogether in a ball of fire

The needler along with the plasma weapons should vaporize as well…doubt it would show up in game though

Which violent reaslism is not necessary. I’m all for graphically realistic, but making games disturbing isn’t a good thing.

nobody said is was necessary, i was just saying that it would bring more
realism to the halo games like the books.
Im not talking about gears of war gore which would be like the books.
But they could put in some gore that wouldnt look ridiculous like GOW.
Something like A cracked visor with a bloody bullet hole when you get a headshot on
someone would be awesome.
Also cosmetic wear like a sword slice could put a big bloody looking cut on your
body when your killed by the sword. Im not talking about over the top gore.

Sure, the books may be gory, but the gameplay never has been. I personally wouldn’t mind too much if there was some slight gore involved and sure, it would be more realistic, but it just doesn’t fit the vibe of the gameplay.
Take Gears of War, for example. Its gameplay has a definite gritty and dirty feel to it. The immense amounts of gore suit its vibe, and it doesn’t take itself too seriously because of that.
Now look at Halo. The gameplay has always had a kind of polished, shiny, serious and mysterious futuristic atmosphere to it. Assassinations definitely added a more gruesome feel to it, but it’s a welcomed addition as far as I’m concerned. Flying limbs, guts, and blood geysers would be a little too much, however, and would make many fans lose their immersion in the gameplay.
Scattershot - disintegrate
Light rifle - hardlight fracture; cracks start to form on the enemy. When dying, enemy shatters
Promethean weapon - rapid decomposition (we never got to see Elite skeletons in-game Brute bones have nothing on that)
I doubt we will see anything beyond that it Halo 4. That said I would love to see Plasma weapons leave enemies steaming for a couple seconds after the kill. Radioactive weapons (ala Carbine and fuel rod) as well.
It would be great if spikers or spike grenades returned in future games and would pin enemies you kill with them to the ground or wall upon death if they were close enough.
As for Promethean weapons. If not in Halo 4 than hopefully with Halo 5(which would likely be on the next xbox if there are technical issues with the effect) all promethean style weapons like that fire projectiles like the scattershot would disintegrate enemies. It would give them a feeling like they are something powerful from a super advanced race without making them unbalanced. I mean how satisfying would it be to take out a whole Grunt squad with Light Rifle headshots and watch them fall apart before your eyes.
Human weapons would feel bland by comparison if all the other weapons had effects. But it would definitely give a feel like you are outgunned and putting down these aliens/robots with of lead while still having gameplay balance. Basically the inverse of the Promethean weapons.
I would love to see by Halo 6…
*Human weapons have fairly ‘standard’ kills as most weapons do now. Some Brute weapons as well
*Plasma/Radioactive weapons of all kind would leave a steaming effect.Laser too.
*Needle weapons do what they have always done(explode)
*Spike weapons pin bodies to the floor/wall
*Promethean weapons disintegrate.
Explosions: scars, black soot/blast burns on armor
Plasma weapons: blast burns
Needler Supercombin: chunks of armor fly off/HUGE blast burn
Flamethrower: spartan flails around in pain as his body disintegrates as it is being consumed by the fire.
